PILs park in the mother and baby space all the time as a matter of course using the fact they have a child seat in there as an excuse!! Never take my dcs shopping never why would they? That is very very unreasonable imo and makes me ! They have been challanged about it and they say they make a joke about they left the kids at home!
Observant ones will notice I put this on another thread but then thought it deserves an aibu in its own right iyswim!

does it really metter?

Shoegazer · 23/08/2008 21:58

of course it matters, they are parking in a mother and child space, they should not be using these if they don't have a child!

2luvlyboys · 23/08/2008 22:00

no they are not old and frail!

Take the car seat out their car.

expatinscotland · 23/08/2008 22:24

I think all parent and child bays should be abolished entirely, actually, and replaced with disabled bays.

Every last one of them.

I also think retailers should start contracting with private tow companies and tow away all vehicles that park in disabled bays with no blue badge.

expat speaks sense as always

juuule · 23/08/2008 22:27

Agree with expat.

2shoes · 23/08/2008 22:30

i love expat

wotulookinat · 23/08/2008 22:31

Yes to the towing, but I do like the parent and child bays. It saves cares from getting bashed by kids getting in and out of cars.

wotulookinat · 23/08/2008 22:31

I mean 'saves cars' of course!

juuule · 23/08/2008 22:32

I usually try to park in an empty part of the carpark to avoid car getting bashed.

wotulookinat · 23/08/2008 22:34

It's not my car I am so worried about - it's the one next to it. I am a ahem large lady and need the door open quite wide to get my son strapped into his seat.
Maybe we should have fat peoples and skinny-minny beautiful people aren't allowed near them!!!!!!

juuule · 23/08/2008 22:36

I think empty part of carpark would work just as well for not bashing other cars, too

Why Expat? Don't you find it difficult struggling with baby, buggy, nappy bag, handbag, umbrella plus shopping?? Surely proportionally there aren't enough disabled people to justify reallocating all parent and child bays as disabled??

hf128219 · 23/08/2008 22:38

What about people who borrow the disabled person's car avec said Blue Badge and park in said Disabled place? That is sooooo bad.

I know a few people who do that.

wotulookinat · 23/08/2008 22:39

Bloody logic. What's wrong with you all?

Isn't part of the idea of P&C spaces for vhild safety so you're not dragging a screaming toddler across a car park?

wotulookinat · 23/08/2008 22:40

vhild safety??? what's a vhild? I mean 'child' of course.

hf128219 · 23/08/2008 22:41

P&C places of course have a place too. They are more spacious so car seat/pram et al can be removed from vehicle in safety.
