to remove not so dps balls and shove them as far down his stupid snoring throat as possible

ok maybe an over reaction but his snoring has got really bad!

Its half 4 in the morning and ive had 10 minutes sleep, am being kept awake nearly every night by it and to top it all am 3 days overdue with dc4.

How the hell am i going to cope being kept up with a new born and snoring??

Waste of time me going back to bed as i have midwife in the morning which i really dont want to miss, so am going to be knackered for the rest of the day

whinge whinge moan moan lol

Oh dear. Is there no way you could grab a bit of a rest tomorrow at some point? I'm guessing with 3 DC already, that this is probably highly unlikely.

As for the coping with the snoring and a newborn, just make sure DP gets up and does the attending, that way LO is sorted and the snoring doesn't happen (although if you are BF, then that might not work...)

I hope he will do his fair share and let me get some rest!! I think it may be a fight though as he is a very deep sleeper and a bugger to wake up!!

I asked him if he could sleep on the sofa for a night so i could get just one night of undisturbed (well kind of, toilet trips etc) nights sleep but he refused and said i should or go and jump into bed with one of the DC. Im the size of a house FFS I struggle in our bed let alone on a sofa or being kicked every 2 minutes by one of the kids!!

Right at this precise moment he is a complete arse but im tired and its his fault so im allowed to forget all the nice stuff he does!

I really feel for you. I had this not so long ago when I was pg with DS. He would complain about my snoring, but wouldn't think to go and sleep on the sofa. Oh no, just roll around the bed, digging me in the ribs, moaning and groaning.

He's fortunate in that I get up all through the night with DS so he gets to sleep through with no interruptions .

iliketosleep has he been to the doc? there can be medical reasons for snoring iirc.

my stepdad used to snore horrendously, when we stayed there you could hear it downstairs in the kitchen, my poor mum. his has improved a lot since he stopped drinking 2 bottles of wine a night

yanbu. However could you put one of the dcs in wirh him, then go sleep in their bed? We've done this recently, dd2 can sleep through anything so she slept with her daddy while 39-wk pg me got to sleep in her bed undisturbed

It was when DS was a new born that I finally made DH go to the doctor about his horrendous snoring - before I went to sleep before him, but when woken in the night, couldn't get back to sleep because of the snoring.

As it turned out, DH stopped breathing 85 times an hour.... He now uses a CPAP unit all night, and there is silence in the bedroom. Oh, and his chance of dying early from a stroke/heart attack were cut drastically.

Not overly big, doesn't drink and i recorded him on my phone and played it and he laughed

Although he has been nice to me so far today as before i posted on here this morning I had a bit of a drama queen moment which involved throwing the covers off me as hard as I could and stamping down the stairs

He made some comment about it lol

I reckon I will be sleeping well tonight

I could suggest going to the docs to him but I doubt he will go, he hates the place!

Like cmotdibbler's dh, my dh has sleep apnoea and wears a CPAP. It is a potentially life-threatening condition and I think your dh should be checked for it.
And YANBU!

If he won't go to the doctor to be checked then you could try one of the anti-snoring acupressure rings. They wear it at night on their little finger. We got ours in the local health shop and I was amazed how well it works - I can hear the TV when I am watching in bed now! He now snores less and when he does it is at a much, much lower volume! If you are going to try it get one of the ones that come with a refund offer if they don't work - though having said that the health shop said none had been brought back.

And no, you are not being unreasonable, you need your sleep now, and even more when new baby arrives.

Much sympathy to you. My dh is also a pig.

BUT he only needs to lose a little bit of weigh and it gets so much better. He has also been checked for sleep apnoea and the doc jst told him to lose weight .

Your dh really should go to the doc. Also has he tried a nose strip.

How odd! I was going to start a thread today about anything to stop them snoring... my dh snores often and it is unbearable sometimes. I literally want to put a pillow over his head in my sleep-deprived addlement.

He needs to go to the doctors. He also needs to understand how disturbing it is - laughing is not really the right response in the circumstances.

hehe when my hubbie snores i dig him in the ribs and tell him to roll onto his side.
now i just have to turn over and he automatically rolls onto his side and mumbles 'sorry' even if he hasn't been snoring.

didn't realise sleep apnoea was that serious?! are there any other symptoms?

ILTS, I am with you all the way. DH always snores. I thought it had got better but last few nights it is bad again. Or it could be that I am so bloody uncomfortable that I am awake and can hear it more.
I may try the stealing DD1 bed and she can sleep with him. Might be a bit cruel for DD1 mind you

DP snores. badly. We have to have separate bedrooms because it's so bad.

But good point about seeing GP... It may be something physical.

Sleep apnoea is mostly accompanied by snoring (although not always). Its a fairly characteristic pattern of breathing/snoring followed by a period of not breathing, and then often they do a big snorty breath in / shudder and start breathing again. Blood pressure is higher in the morning than the evening as your body makes adrenalin to restart breathing. DH's was normal during the day, and sky high in the morning.

Many people who are overweight have sleep apnoea. HOWEVER, just telling them to loose weight is not productive. Its very hard to loose weight with OSA which is untreated due to tiredness, and due to the hormonal disruption that occurs. DH's consultant gets really angry about men who are turned away from GPs, because he knows that they just won't loose weight and keep it off, and then won't go back and get the treatment they so desparatly need.

DH snores like a pig. My sleep must get disturbed about 10 times a night. Some days I can hardly stay awake to drive.

I push his head to one side, gently, and get accused of 'beating' him about the head.
