Its half 4 in the morning and ive had 10 minutes sleep, am being kept awake nearly every night by it and to top it all am 3 days overdue with dc4.

How the hell am i going to cope being kept up with a new born and snoring??

Waste of time me going back to bed as i have midwife in the morning which i really dont want to miss, so am going to be knackered for the rest of the day

cmo - thanks. what's cpap unit? and what sort of consultant? ears, nose and throat?

cmotdibbler · 20/08/2008 13:52

CPAP is continuous positive airways pressure - its a machine that blows air into the nose (usually, some do mouth and nose)to keep the airways open. For some men, having a dental device that pushes the jaw forward, or nasal polyps or other nasal issues sorted out can work, but CPAP was what DH needed.

DH saw a consultant at a specialist sleep clinic, and they are the best ones to see as they are aware of all options. An ENT might push for surgery when inappropriate cos thats what they know to do.

yanbu ILTS; i also have a snorer, but it is a lot better sionce he stopped smoking as much or drinking beer. He also tried some homeopathic spray and the strips which helped a lot.

He needs to understand how disturbing it is at the best of times never mind 40+ weeks pregnant or with new baby sleep deprivation. Send him in to sleep with the DCs. He should also realise by DC4 that you need to conserve your energy for the task ahead!

I think though that maybe your labour is getting closer

hope the visit to the MW went well and you are managing to get some rest this afternoon.

ronshar · 20/08/2008 14:23

Daisy I hadnt thought of that. Maybe this is the start of the irrational mood swing just before labour starts. It could be just the thing ILTS needs

Thomcat · 20/08/2008 14:27

I use wax ear plugs. They are great and really help. I highly recommend them.

LackaDAISYcal · 21/08/2008 08:46

hope you had a better night sleep last night ilts.......or maybe not??????

pamelat · 21/08/2008 09:00

Could he not spend a night on the sofa? With you being pregnant?
I would expect that. Hope you get some sleep tonight.
My DH only snores after drinking and I cant sleep, I kick him and then he gets cross with ME for waking him .. !

ghostbuster · 21/08/2008 09:12

My DH snores really badly when he's been drinking. I wake him up every time I hear him, which causes some short-term strife (!) but did make him sort it out (in our case by him now sleeping on the sofa when he's been out on the town).

If you don't wake your P up, why would he bother to get the problem sorted? Doesn't sound like he's that bothered about your lack of sleep

He slept in DS's bed last night and DS slept in with me

Bless him DS's bed is a toddler bed!

Still fell asleep about midnight and only woke once to go to the loo so feeling pretty refreshed now
