Sorry...bursting with some degree of British pride here, but even so...

I was just wondering where the whole TEAM .... came from all of a sudden. We are moving house soon and I get mails from the guy organising it at TeamAllied. Urgh!

My DH works for a big company that also go on about TEAM...

I like it because it reminds me of 'Team America', that var funny film by the South PArk people.

but it is a team - they didn't just bugger off to China under their own steam and only concentrate on their own events - they support each other (and even compete with each other, as well as against in some cases)

Actually I agree that the term "Team GB" is very irritating. It sounds so...new labour somehow...

Ok, I can accept an actual TEAM being called that, but not a company. It sounds like a bunch of marketing type Giles and Tristans made up the slogan while out on the piss.

it is a rebranding - and very american at that. I dislike it too. I've only just realized why the reading challenge at the library that dd1 has been doing over the summer is called 'Team Read'

i live in the ME, and here, a very popular sport is referred to as the 'EPL'
as in, NFL etc etc
guess what it is?

NFL - National Football League - widely known american acronym

EPL - not very widely used acrony for a particular 'brand' of sport

It's been Team GB for some time now - not just this Olympics.

One reason why I don't like Paula Radcliffe, actually - it's always about here (IMO) and I always get the feeling that she couldn't care less about the team.
