tell him it will be handy for when HE is in there doing the cooking and washing up every night.

nickytwotimes · 19/08/2008 13:49

God, the shame of a wall mounted TV.

I hope divorce proceedings have been instigated?

PoorOldEnid · 19/08/2008 13:51

I hate wall mounted tvs

but I guess I am just cross as he spent so much money without asking me first

brownsuga that is a good idea

Hmmmm. I would be seriously pissed off to have a wall mounted TV anywhere in my house.

PoorOldEnid · 19/08/2008 13:52

i'm with you findtheriver

I hope its just an extra kit and we can at least perch it on the side like normal people

and the infuriating thing is I have been asking him to put a shelf up there for AGES - YEARS - and he has always said oh no the wall is too crumbly it would be to hard and SUDDENLY WE CAN HAVE SOME CRAPPY TELLY ON IT

tbh if we had swanky new modern kitchen it would be fine

but we have crumbling, tatty country kitchen with lots of retro bits and pieces

if it was a lovely old fashioned black and white sony I would go for it

am happy to have whizzy flat screen in bedroom and sitting room

yuk!!

I have recently circumvented dh's wish for 'a tv on an arm which will swing out so we can watch it in bed'. ewwwwwww! Sounds very crossroads hotel.

I was at home when the tv point man came, so my bedroom telly has its happy home where I want it!

constancereader · 19/08/2008 13:57

oh dear

take it back to the shop quickly, then put up a shelf with some lovely bunting and a few gingham hearts...

PoorOldEnid · 19/08/2008 13:59

ooh no I dont do gingham hearts or bunting

they are naff too

sigh

its hard being a style icon

(whispers... my parents have a tv at the bottom of their bed that rises up from a box-thing when they want to watch it.)

SHH, don't tell anyone

wheresthehamster · 19/08/2008 14:04

I want one of those ones that swing down from under the wall unit. Or are they too yesterday?

PoorOldEnid · 19/08/2008 14:06

we bought a 32" from john lewis for sitting room

when we tried to swap it for a 28" they said no you have taken it out of box so it is effectively second hand we cannot resell at full price

I had to go BALLISTIC before they gave in

Isn't there a theory about the size of your telly being in inverse proportion to the size of your IQ.......

PoorOldEnid · 19/08/2008 14:06

am not a luddite

love telly
love computres

just dont see the need for one in the kitchen

I listen to radcliffe and mconey when cooking in the evening and I love it
