Every morning when he wakes up and every night before bed he makes a revolting snorting noise, gobs snot in the sink and then runs the tap. Every night it makes me retch and it is me who cleans the blardy sink.
So finally after 5 years together I say this morning "please could you gob in a tissue and put it down the loo or in the bin?"
him grumpily "maybe"
so is it an unreasonable request or is he an unhygienic pig?

PMSL at the tampons YANBU. I think you are a saint for only just mentioning it. Tell him to stop it sharpish or you'll wipe bogies on his pillow.

the wash basin in bathroom. Is it just a sink when in the kitchen then? Would it be ok in a kitchen sink? ewwwwwwww. He is otherwise really fastidiously clean to the point of weird (won't touch copper coins or escalator hand rails in case they are dirty)

So everyone else's germs are a problem to him but his germs aren't a problem to anyone else . He sounds a bit dense.

Mine does this when he thinks I'm not looking.

He does the tissue thing too which is also utterly vile IMO.

Why on earth do men need to gob. Women don't. It's utterly foul.

Mind you he never complains when I put my mooncup in the dishwasher.

I have mentioned it before as in taking the piss out of him for being revolting but he's never taken the hint. This is the first time I've specifically asked him to stop it. Shall campaign now that I am certain I am not being unreasonable.

It's because they are too lazy to blow their noses properly and just sniff all the crap back up there, causing it to gunk together nicely at the back of their throats

But if there's no-one around I sniff the stuff back up there and then simply swallow. Our stomaches are meant to deal with the crap our snot traps. There are cilia at the back of our throats coaxing the stuff down. Why do men feel the need to eject theirs?

He's washing it away though, so I can't see the problem tbh, I mean when you wash the sink it's not there and it's had however many days of toothpaste gob down there as well. It would make me heave to hear it though, so maybe ask him to be more considerate about doing it in your hearing?

Gross - I seriously could not put up with that!!!

My dh does this (very occasionally, I hasten to add) when he has a cold - he coughs, and instead of putting the cattarh into a tissue and flushing it he runs over to the sink and spits it out.

I cannot tell you how sick this makes me feel; it is the most revolting thing, especially when he's actually very well house-trained in other areas! We have had Words about this, and I swear that if he does it again this winter when he seems to have a permanent cold he will be under the patio.

I really hate the way some men blow their noses without a tissue - like footballers. Push thumb against side of nose to close nostril and blow out of other. If I did this I'd have a great sting of snot hanging down my front. Truly (sp?) vile and stomach churning.
