after being the first to reply to a freebie on here (maclaren quest)and was really glad when i logged on an saw the lady had offered it to me , so i emailed her to ask when i could arrange collection for and offered to give her some money towards packaging, only for her to reply to me apologising that someone else had emailed her, pretending to be me and had the cheek to go and collect it themselves all under the guise that they were me, how nasty and dishonest is that, and now im trying to contact mumsnet to do something about it as im am fucking fuming and just want to find the lady and punch her face in for doing that, its not even the pushchair im fuming about, its the fact that she pretended to be me in order to get STEAL the pushchair, it is theft and to think someone would go as low as that for a old pushchair is really grinding my gears!!! how would you feel?

i know right, and have just got mail from the lady saying no need to get nasty about it that it was a freebie, thats not what im pissed about, its the cheek of the woman seeing it offered to me and responding and pretending to be me!!

There are some horrible dishonest people out there. I really hope that this person gets a sour taste in her mouth every time she uses that buggy.

I would be extremely pissed off with that. Is there no name in the email they used to contact the person with the pushchair? Perhaps that person could get mumsnet bods to check the email agains the registrations and contact them.

If so they I would inform Mumsnet. Really they should have their account suspended for using it fraudulently!

no, they just contacted her straight and she knew she offered it to me, so thought it was me and the woman never corrected her, beanie i have sent a mail to mumsnet, but just ab general one to warn others about it as if she can do this for a freebie imagine what she would do for something valuable

sparkly, thats true, i wish i had mailed her last night but it was after 9 and thought i could not arrange colletion till today, so i waited to mail her this morning, did not know there were people like that on here, if you see it offered to someone else, just move on, dont arrange collection!!

Lilysmummy, I'm sorry to hear this. It sounds very annoying. Some people have no sense of honour, do they?

From the ad it was clear you had got it and she had given you her email ad.
For the other person to contact her via that without being invited to do so is imo very wrong and unfair on the kind person who was giving it.

just giving the other woman the benefit of the doubt, isn't it possible that she emailed the owner saying 'is the pushchair still available or has it been collected?'

and the owner emailed back,(thinking it was you), 'no it's still here when do you want to pick it up?'

So the woman assumed you hadn't gone for it after all and arranged collection?

If she was deliberately dishonest, then that's awful, but there could be a genuine mix-up.

So nowhere did the other person say 'I am Lilysmummy'. I agree with Meemar she probably just emailed asked if it was still available and Jackjacksmummy assumed it was you because she emailed her first. I think it's more likely to be a misunderstnading than anything malicious tbh.

ledodgy, she put her email address specifically for me only last night after 9pm, why would you email asking if was still available minutes after she offered it to someone else,she maybe did not say that she was lilysmummy but if i sent post specifically for you i got a response immediately, i would think it was the person i offered it to, but also why would i ask if it was still available if it was offered to me, meanwhile ive heard back from mumsnet they said unless they have the email address of the person they cant do anything about it and it may not have even been a mumsnet member

also only myself and lunavix replied so its not like it was in high demand, but whoever it was just waited 2 days for an email address to go up and then send for it

It's a crummy thing to do and it actually makes me a bit sad.
