If one more person asks me I will smack them. I fucking well am not, i am fat, and i will fat when i get married.

I have quite enough to worry about at the moment, my life falling apart at the seams etc.

When I got married I was a size 14, still a little bit round but I was OK with it. I wanted to look like 'me' on my big day, not some size 8 shadow version of myself iykwim!

At the evening I had some fudge cake and 3 seperate people commeneted on it! Saying 'oh onto the cake now you've got him are you?'

Ask them if they are going to have extensive facial plastic surgery for thier big nose, because it's obvuoulsy too biog if they are polking it into your business

they should count themselves lucky you aren;t boring them to tears over some tedious diet so you will look marginally smaller in your frock

That is extremely rude Smurf girl, am always a bit miffed that people feel that they can make comments like that. You will want to recognise yourself on the photos and you will look amazing and glowing because it will be your day. I had a similar issue when people kept asking me if I was going to get a spray tan - er no, because it was in the middle of winter and I'm normally as white as a sheet - how bizarre if I had turned up all orange!

I didn't lose weight for my wedding (probably was expected to as 12-14), as I aslo wanted to look like me!

My SIL lost loads of weight for her wedding, looked gorgeous, but has since put it all back on again (after having 3 beautiful girls) and is constantly remarking how awful she feels, as she 'wasn't this size when she got married' There is alot to be said for being happy in your own skin.

There is too much going on leading up to the wedding, you may lose a bit, you may not.

I was a size 18 when I had my first fitting and the dress was a tight fit all over, I then ordered a 20 dress so that I would be comfortable, not have to try and hold my gut in all day, have a bloody good feast and dance the night away.

I looked beautiful on my wedding day. I hadn't lost weight, but I had a fantastically well designed and made dress.

I felt beautiful and I looked lovely (or at least I thought so!). DH later told me the sleeves of my dress reminded him of Elvis in his fat, white, Las Vegas suit because of all the sparkles

Ha!I also got married a strapless dress with tan lines from a t-shirt incident early in the summer!! Thought I had got away with it,(and was utterly reluctant to go orange) but the photos do indicate otherwise...

But you know what? It was our day, spent with our DC, closest family and friends, and it WAS PERFECT!

I had this loads and it really pissed me off - like you I felt no need to lose weight for my wedding and also wanted to enjoy the experience and feel like myself at the wedding. I got married as a size 22 (although had to buy a wedding dress in size 26 for some reason which was fairly surreal) and 5 years later I can still fit into my dress. I looked bloody fab on the day. Am embarrassed to say I did eventually give in and ended up in a tanning booth thing - I felt awful and despite repeated blasts of nuclear power was still my useful white self! have not stepped near any form of tanning since. have a fab wedding btw!

Incredibly rude! That's basically just saying "you're fat, you are", isn't it? If anyone says it who's actually going to the wedding, make sure you airbrush them out of the photos (heh, I did get airbrushed out of a wedding photo once, but it wasn't because I'd been rude to the bride).

I got married as ME, as I was at the time - size 16, dyed red hair and all. I really wouldn't want to be looking at photos of a skinny me with sensible hair colour (despite the fact I now HAVE sensible coloured hair).

People are so rude. I was asked the same before my wedding, I had no intention of dieting, I made a half hearted attempt at aqua aerobics, but as it happened I got pregnant and was 4 months gone on my wedding day, so I doubt a diet would have made any difference anyway!
