I want the weirdest of icks, I’m bored and want a giggle..

I’ll go first…

skinny jeans

Men who use umbrellas. Just be manly and get wet.
Men who drive one minute to get somewhere. Unmanly. Walk it.

Men who carry handkerchiefs. And even worse, blow their noses in public into them. <shudder>

I used to work the breakfast shift in a hotel years ago… Having to serve men who wore as little as possible was stomach churning.
Vests ( with armpit hair sticking out) short shorts (😵‍💫) and bare bloody hairy crabby feet in sliders used to make me retch. Particularly bad if the man was not clean and smelt stale and ‘leftover from the night before’. Truly horrible.

I never knew this about polo shirts! What about the smart Boss or Ralph Lauren ones?

My DH wears them a lot (he is trim) and i like them!

Why do you have to be perfect to have icks? Men have icks too.

Nose picking, especially when they think they are doing it stealthily and you aren't able to hear or see them doing it, then rolling it between their fingers from the corner of your eye.

Yes was an ex. He would disgustingly then nibble it out from under his fingernails and try to kiss me. Funny how once you have seen a partner do it you seem to notice every man doing it for the rest of your life though. So many wives I have pitied from a bus or hotel balcony...

Most people give me the ick.

Where have you been? Loads of people have that ick, especially when it comes to women with hairy legs / armpits.

I was on a date with a man I was falling HARD for. Then I noticed when he talked animatedly he held his little finger in a really weird way and that was it. Couldn’t get past it!

How can you have special strong feelings about black leggings when there are people in skin-coloured butt-scrunch leggings moving freely in public.

MAMILS. A man in lycra with a bike is an instant stomach churn.

Today I watched a man blow his nose and open the tissue to examine it’s contents.
I thought of this thread

I have had a long standing relationship (in my head) with Kiefer, but I have a new love for Rossif. They have very similar voices (like their dad) and it makes me melt.

You can’t have watched Celebrity Traitors then, with sweet little Bash holding his nose as he jumped into the water (admittedly as he plummeted from a helicopter into a lake).

I am a horrible pedant but I think most of these are not actual icks - just things people agree are unattractive.

An ick is something your monkey brain picks up on but your human brain is too clever to do so (or tries to justify). A man can appear to be good looking, nice, fun etc but then does something that the monkey brain recognises as not being something that you can live with.

I once went off a man because he pronounced the “l” in “folks” (comes up sometimes in some south coast accents). I am sure that he made someone else very happy but he wasn’t for me.

This made me laugh, although I can’t imagine you encounter its use much? 😁

Date once texted me that I would recognise him (online date) because he was wearing a flat cap, an anorak and carrying a plastic bag. I laughed because I thought he was joking. He wasn't.

I am both horrified and turned on by this thread in equal measure 😳

Nose picker had a nasal polyp, so I wasn't allowed to tell him off for picking in public...he mentioned it a lot when I gave him a look.

I don't know, you're probably right but I think a lot are icks as they are fine on some people but that one time someone wears something or says something it completely switches you off them. For others it might be unattractive but doesnt put you off a person. I was terrible in my late teens, I would get the ick so easily, be absolutely mad about someone and then all of a sudden they would do one thing and I couldn't stand them.

Its not always the same for every person either, some people you can cope with them doing those things or looking a certain way but some you just can't. I think some of mine were things I find unattractive but equally make me shudder on some people.

So do I. I love the 1930s style ones. DS has a few and I think he looks great in them.
