Amazon order not delivered

amazonletmedown · Yesterday 18:09

I have placed a pretty hefty Amazon order. Christmas gifts and some stock up bits as I bulk buy all household essentials on there (it’s cheaper!)

The order was meant to be delivered between 11&2. Then it was pushed back, and now it’s just marked as “still arriving today”.

i suspect it’s not coming because it’s such a large delivery but AIBU to complain?!

What do you hope to achieve by complaining?

Ilikewinter · Yesterday 18:11

Has your area been affected by this weekends storms?, if so Id cut the poor amazon guy some slack. You might find its automatically rearranged for delivery tomorrow.

This is what I thought - deliveries near me have been disrupted due to flooding and trees down.

I’m sure they’ll gladly refund you if the order doesn’t arrive at all. But you don’t need to ‘complain’ - you can just request a refund.

Not at all. It was a bit blustery yesterday day but nothing we don’t see regularly in winter!

Your mention of ‘Christmas gifts’ suggests that this is not an order that was vital for an Oct 25th delivery…

Raspberryripple11 · Yesterday 18:13

Sometimes things get pushed to the next day, or are delivered super later (like 10pm). Unless you specifically paid for named day / next day delivery I’m not sure you’d get anywhere by complaining (and even then I’m sure they have clauses that would absolve them of guilt). It’s just one of those things, sometime deliveries get delayed.

So? Does that mean I can’t order?

You wont get a refund unless it doesn't turn up at all which is very unlikely. You're being a bit dramatic

Lifejigsaw · Yesterday 18:16

You won’t get a refund for it coming a day late! You might get delivery costs refunded if that’s now outside its agreed window?

Ah ok. I'd still wait to see if its
rearranged for tomorrow, anything could have happened, and if you still dont hear anything then request a refund.

RedRiverShore6 · Yesterday 18:16

It will likely turn up tomorrow

Not at all! But you probably don’t need it to arrive today - so if it ends up being delivered tomorrow, you’d still be fine.

amazonletmedown · Yesterday 18:17

I mean, I pay enough for a prime membership for it to come on time!

I pay for prime next day delivery (and actually ordered on Friday!) so I kind of expect it to be delivered!

If it doesn't arrive today it'll probably be delivered tomorrow. If that's too late for you then return it and get a refund.

But honestly, try being a bit less combative. By your own admission you're not in a rush for the delivery so why make a drama?

LittleGreenShoots · Yesterday 18:19

Last time I had this happen I spoke to customer service and the parcel had been damaged on route so had gone back to the depot. They rearranged delivery of a fresh parcel and refunded me a month of my prime membership as a goodwill gesture. Just talk to them if you are upset, it's not such a big deal.

Fair enough, but you’ve got until 10pm tonight for Amazon to achieve its Prime next day delivery.

OnTheBoardwalk · Yesterday 18:26

Might be a problem with the van? Give them a chance.

I had an issue with an amazon delivery. They had a photo of the parcel in a random blue bin. Told me to wait 24 hours then they did a refund. If yours isn’t even showing as delivered I’m sure they'll refund straight away if there is an issue

norahbones · Yesterday 18:30

Life doesnt need to be this difficult. Your order is a bit late. It's not a big deal. You've got weeks until Christmas. There have been storms and the 'blustery' weather has taken trees down and caused significant delays on the roads. Send it back if you don't want it.

BillieWiper · Yesterday 18:34

They won't refund until 48 hours after it was meant to turn up.
If it's in their system it's just delayed, probably will be there the next day.

loratadine · Yesterday 18:35

Seems pretty obvious to me she wants a freebie.

I’m pretty pissed off. It includes things I did need for tomorrow (a towel for the gym, deodorant refills). You pay through the nose for next day delivery for it to just not turn up. I don’t think the weather is an excuse when we have escaped pretty much all of it!

Not here. The UK is a big country!
