Do you put crisps in your sandwiches/ rolls/ pitas/ baguettes etc

If you don't happen to have any, you are secretly gutted?

It's not for me. A crisp like crunch when I am eating bread would set my teeth on edge just like biting on a bit of grit. Yuck!

Favouritefruits · 19/10/2026 14:44

No! I’m definitely crisp out not crisp in. Reminds me on snail shells crunching away.

TigerRag · 19/10/2026 14:45

I've never had a crisp sandwich!

Wewinnow · 19/10/2026 14:45

Absolutely not.

ThePineappleSeahorse · 19/10/2026 14:46

Definitely not. It doesn’t appeal.

theyoungishman · 19/10/2026 14:48

I've never heard of this but it sounds gross.. on the side is fine

DollopOfFun · 19/10/2026 14:48

I'll occasionally make an actual crisp sandwich, but I don't put crisps into other sandwiches, no. Wrongsville, New Mexico.

Snoozysnoozy · 19/10/2026 14:48

WTF is wrong with you all. Crisps in. I'd like to have 2 bags of crisps. One to put in the sandwich and the other to eat

cartagenagina · 19/10/2026 14:49

Yes if it’s a sandwich, but never in a roll.

Standards!

Davros · 19/10/2026 14:49

Yes please. I love a buttery baguette filled with chicken crisps

Tequilamockinbird · 19/10/2026 14:49

I love a crisp sandwich but don’t put crisps in with other fillings. Just on their own. Warburtons bread, Lurpak butter and crunched up salt and vinegar walkers 😋

CinnamonBuns67 · 19/10/2026 14:50

Occasionally in a sandwich or roll. Never in a pitta or baguette. The crisps have to be ready salted in the sandwich too and the sandwich has to be a cheese and pickle or cheese and mustard sandwich. No I'm not gutted if I don't have any ready salted crisps to hand.

MellowSubmarine · 19/10/2026 14:50

Grated cheddar with ready salted crisps is a perfect sandwich.

OttersOnAPlane · 19/10/2026 14:52

A cheese and salt and vinegar crisp butty is wonderful thing. Also good with tuna mayo.

pulpJarvis · 19/10/2026 14:52

Not every time - but a crisp in a ham or cheese sandwich can add a pleasing texture and, frankly, more salt. But tend not to in company. You lot pouring scorn on the idea should try it!

I'm sure there's a classic Mexican sandwich that includes crisps..

Crunchymum · 19/10/2026 14:54

I am not totally averse to crisps in a sandwich but for me it's only certain crisps (cheese and onion) that work with certain fillings (cheese, red onion and salad cream) on certain bread (white doorstep). I wouldn't have this very often though.... not because I eat like a sparrow or reject all UPF's but because I am not a massive sandwich fan in general.

ThePieceHall · 19/10/2026 14:56

Barbarian.

ginasevern · 19/10/2026 15:01

I have been known to scoff a cheese and onion sandwich with cheese and onion crisps stuffed inside. I am very particular though. It has to be "real" crusty white bread, French butter, a good strong cheddar and thinly sliced white onion. I do have standards you know.

Knitterlybliss · 19/10/2026 15:05

I had two cheese, pickle and crisps doorstep sandwiches when I felt the first contractions having my second son. My reasoning was that I probably wouldn't be able to eat for a while. Not to be recommended. I've never had heartburn like that before or since!

Hibbs126 · 19/10/2026 15:10

Only if it is peanut butter with salt and vinegar or ready salted crisps, my husband thinks I'm very odd.

villadicance · 19/10/2026 15:11

Well yeah.

Otherwise it would just be bread!

OldieButBaddie · 19/10/2026 15:12

Yes! Prawn cocktail works in most sandwiches I find!

Bimblebombles · 19/10/2026 15:13

Essential in a tuna sandwich, otherwise there is nothing to break up the claggy soft bread / tuna monotony.

EveningSpread · 19/10/2026 15:14

No, but I would like to. I don’t generally buy crisps. But putting them in sandwiches is delicious! When I was a child I was allowed a crisp sandwich occasionally.

RumJerrySailorRum · 19/10/2026 15:22

I will have a crisp sandwich.....but not in sliced bread, must be a bap/roll/ whatever you want to call it.

And I will put crisps in an egg mayo sandwich only.
Preferably cheese and onion but I will put plain in if I must.
