Do you put crisps in your sandwiches/ rolls/ pitas/ baguettes etc

If you don't happen to have any, you are secretly gutted?

Yes. And I like a crisp sandwich every now again. Has to be cheese and onion, beef/marmite flavoured or ready salted only.

IndigoBluey · 19/10/2026 15:29

Yes always if I have a packet. V nice with mayo and tuna or cheese mayo

bubbletubble · 19/10/2026 15:33

Oh yes and I have particular crisps I have depending on fillings. Salt and vinegar for any fish type fillings (eg salmon / tuna), cheese and onion for ham, ready salted for cheese or chicken filled sandwiches and black pepper crisps for anything else (eg egg, mozzarella and pesto etc).

The only type of crisp sandwich I would have with no filling would be buttered sandwich / roll with chicken crisps. Had one for lunch yesterday!

This thread has made me so hungry, now I want to eat a sandwich!

Vaxtable · 19/10/2026 15:34

Yes, yummy

Lemonyyy · 19/10/2026 15:35

Egg mayo sandwich with salt and vinegar crisps, yes please!

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 19/10/2026 15:36

I love a big white roll, buttered, filled with Tangy Toms crisps.
I don't add them to an existing sandwich filling usually, unless it's cheese, and then cheese and onion fit nicely.

Aquarius1234 · 19/10/2026 15:36

For me its cooked crisps sea salt. Or occasionally cheese and onion.
Deffo with tuna mayo, cheese. Need the crunch even with cucumber.

Unless I’m specifically making a crisp sandwich (which for the record is only ever golden wonder smoky bacon and dairlylea on white bread!). Then no, crisps belong on the side

Becs258 · 19/10/2026 15:39

I don’t eat sandwiches very often, but definitely crisps in a ham or cheese sandwich. And my favourite from when I was a student-
cheese on toast topped with Skips. Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it!

RaraRachael · 19/10/2026 15:45

Never heard of crisps in sandwiches until I moved to England. I've never done it.

Skatefordinner · 19/10/2026 15:45

Always with a ham sandwich or baguette. Has to be walkers s + v. Mmmmm

Lomonald · 19/10/2026 15:47

Occasionally but im more of a crisp alongside unless it is a tuna sandwich and crisps have to be salt &vinegar

Idontjetwashthefucker · 19/10/2026 15:47

Yes totally, I mourn the demise of Smiths ready salted chipsticks, they were amazing on a corned beef butty on cheap white bread

CarbootJunction · 19/10/2026 15:51

Just the thought of it makes me want to heave.

spiderlight · 19/10/2026 15:57

A crisp sandwich is the lunch of kings. The only thing better is a crisp tiger roll.

topcat2014 · 19/10/2026 16:00

I went to a cafe on holiday in Tenbury Wells and they asked if we wanted crisps in our sandwiches.

It must be a regional thing

ToastSafeFromMothsAndDogs · 19/10/2026 16:03

Yes, of course, that’s what they are for
