Surely he would go to the airport?
If he knows the airport and the hotel ?

What has he done?
You could cancel his flight only?

AlwayAnxious · 14/10/2026 03:51

But he could take another flight

Could you take / destroy his passport

McSpoot · 14/10/2026 03:59

Are you trying to leave your husband? Your post doesn't really make much sense to me - happy to help with travel checklists but need to understand the parameters.

I don't advise following the PP's suggestion of destroying someone password (since that is, of course, illegal).

AlwayAnxious · 14/10/2026 04:02

Illagal yes but if her life is in danger and she needs to get away from him.and he may follow her and something bad happen to her, then i think its reasonable

If she just wants a holiday without him then no its not acceptable

HayuBingeWatcher · 14/10/2026 04:03

He won’t bother following me
i need a solo checklist - everything is paid and arranged
I just need to sort things from a solo travel

i have everything sorted as a couple gong on holiday in 2 weeks time, I’ve never traveled alone before

im sorry I sound so desperate, I really do need some help please

HayuBingeWatcher · 14/10/2026 04:05

I have proof of payment in emails and bank cards in my name
my passport and driving license (no own car to get to the airport though)

OP posts:
HayuBingeWatcher · 14/10/2026 04:10

He won’t bother following me or cancelling anything
i think I have 1 weeks with access to money for being abroad. The only thing not pre paid would be the travel from Essex to the airport apart from that, I have emails confirming everything else

OP posts:
Mulledjuice · 14/10/2026 04:19

what methods of payment do you ahve - credit card, debit card, cash?
phone with the ability for data roaming?
do any of your bookings need an app?

HayuBingeWatcher · 14/10/2026 04:23

Currently I have all you mentioned, I can also draw cash
flights in 2 weeks

OP posts:
Mulledjuice · 14/10/2026 04:31

what do you nean when you say 1 week with access to money? are these joint accounts? if so how can you get something into your sole control?

HayuBingeWatcher · 14/10/2026 04:41

Imapprec7your replies, money isn’t an issue. My issue is i]that I’ve never travelled alone and I want this 2 weeks holiday on my own]
I need to know what I need to take/have with me document wise
I need to arrange transport to get to the airport
and anything else I need as I’ve never travelled alone before
I’m not in danger, he won’t give a care or notice if I’ve gone or not
he won’t bother going without me
im just asking for support to get away on a planned trip I’ve paid for in joint accounts

MrsTerryPratchett · 14/10/2026 04:57

OK not in danger. Phew.

Is it a visa free country?

Do you have more than one form of payment card? And some cash in local currency?

And is it somewhere with ride shares (bolt, uber or whatever)? Transfer from airport to hotel?

I’ve been to 50 countries and there is very little that can’t be solved with reliable payment methods. And a passport with enough time left.

macaroon8 · 14/10/2026 04:58

So you want to go away, alone. So you want to sneak off and leave him at home? But after two weeks you'll head home? What is he going to do/ day when you get back.

As far as checklist goes. Just book a taxi. Take headphones and chargers plus reading material on some form

Ace56 · 14/10/2026 04:59

What? So you’ve booked a holiday with your partner but on the day you’re going to actually go alone? Why?

macaroon8 · 14/10/2026 04:59

Insurance details on phone.

macaroon8 · 14/10/2026 05:00

Why did you book for two and not one?

macaroon8 · 14/10/2026 05:01

Maybe use the two weeks to formulate a plan for the rest of your life

HayuBingeWatcher · 14/10/2026 05:06

The whys don’t matter now
sometimes things don’t work out and over time things come to light
I haven’t got the mental space to explain it and he doesn’t warrant an explanation for my change of mind]it’s joint money, joint access and I’ve spent over 20 years thinking of others
ihave nothing left right now
i either try and ask here for help here or cancel the whole thing and revert back
I can’t keep on with the sleepless nights and pretending anymore

After the basics - passport, money, travel insurance (do you have travel insurance?) then the next most important thing for me would be a plan.

I wouldn't want to an every day out necessarily, but to have a general idea of what's there and what I wanted to do.

Is it a lounge on the beach / by the pool kind of holiday (in which case, have you got all the swim suits / sun lotion / reading books / magazines you need?)

Or is it a holiday where you explore the local area - if so, do you know what's available and how you get there? Especially if it's this kind of holiday I:d want a plan for a few places I wanted to go before leaving the UK. And then pack appropriately.

Good luck OP! I hope you have a lovely holiday.

GreengrocersApostrophe · 14/10/2026 05:31

Do you need an app to check in to your flight, and access your boarding pass?

Thank you!

it is doable it’s just not something I’ve ever done on my own before
yes, T ins and everything needed, it’s AI, I’ve planned and packed for 2 over the last few months. I think I can scale myself down to one overhead and a carry on for 2 weeks laying around on the beach.

i feel like I need to print copies of docs, that’s showing my age! I have email confirmation although I have forwarded them to myself with screenshots from his email as he booked it

You don't need much op.

Boarding pass on phone, passport, credit card, debit card, bikkni.

Sounds like you are on a package holiday so there's nothing else to plan.

Have a nice time.

Terrribletwos · 14/10/2026 05:46

Have you got a GHIC?

And remember to check in online.

StarChild07 · 14/10/2026 06:09

Have you checked in online? It’s been a while since I flew, so i can’t remember how early you can check in online.
