“We” are checked in online, sounds like I need to let the airline and holiday company know it’s 1 not 2?

I’ve no idea what a GICH is

Whenever I travel solo, even if it’s for a short work trip in the uk, I write myself an itinerary. What I am doing, where and when.
I also look up details of any other services that I might need, for example a couple of taxi firms that look local and well-established, or bus services that might be useful. This is all far easier to look up from home in advance rather than when you are standing on a pavement with a suitcase. I print it out and have it with me, with printouts of any tickets and passes stapled to the itinerary.

If the moneyvyojll be using abroad is from a joint account I would move a sum into anothercdole account or get a travel card - its like a pre paid bank card. Normally u wouldn't recommend due to the cost but its maybe too late yo open another account now.
Maybe look for travel card deals on go compare ot travel/money supermarket. Or get one at tge Post Office/local Tui shop.
Or look at getting a Revolut card?
I would also take some currency. Enough for a taxi on arrival, tourist tax etc.. I think its very unwise to travel with no currency at all and rely 100% on cash machines.

Travel Insurance.
Book taxi to airport.
Puzzle book for flight.

You need boarding pass. Have you checked in your flights online? You can normally only check in all passengers so might have to check him in too. Make sure he doesn't have access to the boarding passes.

If he is the leas passenger and the one with the online account you will have to phone the airline and ask what to do.

Is there a chance he will get all debit and credit cards cancelled so you have to money while away? If so you need an account in your own name that he doesn't know about, move money into it. Make sure he doesn't intercept the bank card that is sent to you.

Take plenty of cash just in case

Take plenty to read and music to listen to

Do you have roaming enabled on your phone? Can you use it abroad without racking up horrendous charges? If not get yourself a cheap e-sim so you can use data abroad.

Apply for a GHIC card - it’s for reciprocal health care but doesn’t replace insurance. You apply on line, it doesn’t cost anything. I got my card last month and it arrived in less than a week.

Passport, money, phone with roaming enabled, charger and relvant adapter plug.

As others have said I always print out tickets and booking confirmations as a back up, in case my phone runs out of charge or is stolen. I too type up and print out an itinerary (train/plane times, hotel name and address etc..) just so you have something to hand with all the important info in one place when you arrive.

Habe you worked out how you are getting from the airport to your hotel? I find it helps to work that out before you leave, as I always arrive a bit tired and discombobulated and unfamiliar airports are a bit of a headfuck.
