14 year old boy stalked and stabbed a girl who refused to date him, however was deemed not dangerous by a judge and given a restraining order. What goes through these judge's minds? Unbelievable.

CCTV of boy carrying knife in shop. He is stood in the middle of the aisle between the till and some shelves, which are full of products. He is wearing a light grey hoodie and jeans. His face is blurred.

Mother wants justice after boy's 'evil' knife attack on her daughter

The 14-year-old girl could have died in the frenzied attack, her mother says.

The bottom line is that this govt doesn't give a flying f*ck about violence against women and girls, and any claim to the contrary is nothing but politically correct lip service.

They are a total waste of space.

You're wrong. No government has given a flying fuck about VAWG, or women in general for that matter. Unless you can give me any stellar examples to the contrary.

100% agree.
But it is what it is, saying anything will just get you labelled racist / uncaring / disablist (insert as appropriate).

Doesn't take long (or much) for the bigots and racists to seep out of the woodwork.

He is. But, no doubt, he’ll have an excuse. 🙄

You can see it already, can't you?

He couldn't help it, he was consumed by sadness because the nasty girl dumped/wouldn't go out with him/gave him the wrong idea and his mates might've made fun over it.

So basically it was her own fault.

I think it is shocking that she was actually physically stabbed and the boy/teen was let off. Surely this is attempted murder! I don’t understand the reasoning for why he has been allowed to walk free. I can only imagine the hell the girl and her family are going through, they will have their lives upended and probably have to relocate. Where is the justice?? ⚖️

40 years ago a (male) judge said the trauma Jill Saward had endured after being gang raped in her own home was "not so very great".

40 years ago feels like a different world in so many, many ways. But not regarding how male judges view the sexual abuse and trauma of women and girls

I remember this case very well. A vicars daughter. Absolutely horrific. She campaigned for the rest of her life.

Or Judge Ian Lawrie's family.

Regarding legal definitions of dangerousness, can anyone explain what they are? Because if stalking and stabbing a girl doesn't qualify someone to be described as dangerous, I would say the legal definition is not fit for purpose.

Also, can anyone remind me of how people were able to make objections to the sentence of the teenage rapists? This seems like equally appalling (and frankly negligent) sentencing.

I don’t know about the way danger is defined - would imagine there is a sentencing guideline that gives a definition.

You cannot complain about sentences issued to under 18s because the juvenile system is different from the adult one, and that is one of the differences.
