AIBU to think that saying you're menopausal is just bragging about not being dead?

Lighthearted.

What other things are women bragging about when they talk about their lives?

Mentioning having a hair cut - bragging about having hair!

Mentioning period pain - bragging about being fertile!

Mentioning a conversation they had - bragging about the ability to speak!

Weirdest thread title in a long time, well done.

What? I know the menopause has had a bit of a reboot in recent years but I don't think anyone's bragging about it...

ThatGoldScroller · Yesterday 12:12

You’re only posting to brag about how “original” your humour is.

Beryls · Yesterday 12:12

😂😂😂 I don't know why but the title has really tickled me

Ereshkigalangcleg · Yesterday 12:14

I think it’s a TAAT, isn’t it?

CremeDeMure · Yesterday 12:15

Is this in response to the thread where the OP says that women who say they are perimenopausal is vain and trying to pretend they are still young?

It is equally as deranged.

Enigma54 · Yesterday 12:16

WTAF?? Weird thread OP. Are you bored??

Ecstaticmotion · Yesterday 12:17

Haha very good!

Justbrieme · Yesterday 12:21

I’m nearly 50 and I’m feeling incredibly, incredibly lucky to not ever have needed to mention the word menopause to anyone not even once, not even to my GP.

Plenty of my friends are in different situations with it and they bring it up but it is not even on my radar.

That was my assumption

Not sure about lighthearted .. more like stupid 🤷‍♀️

SleeplessRoads · Yesterday 12:30

So tempted to make a comment that I think the same about cancer sufferers, but I don’t think my inbox can take another barrage 🤣

Livergoingtogivemeup · Yesterday 12:37

WTAF ?

Gymnopedie · Yesterday 12:40

It's a TAAT. On another thread the OP asserted that menopause and peri are the same thing and that women only say peri because they want to show off that they're still young, and not wrinkly and menopausal.

daisyydaisyy · Yesterday 12:44

Come again?

Gymnopedie · Yesterday 12:48

To get it you have to have read the OP of this thread:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/5585966-aibu-people-calling-it-peri-menopause-instead-of-menopause

I suspect this thread may be deleted as a TAAT.
