Oasis tickets

Ended up spending £990 on 2 tickets for Manchester and a 4 star hotel. I was panicking and just paid it as they were the only ones left, now I am unsure whether to keep them or see if I can resell them. Do you think anyone would buy them? We can afford it but its just a crazy amount to spend for a concert.

Yes I think someone would buy them. It’s up to you if you think it’s worth that amount of money to keep them. Would you enjoy the experience knowing how much you spent?
We got Coldplay tickets for Wembley last year & had to pay for hotels etc. probably cost a similar amount for the 4 of us (tickets were only £80 each & the kids were desperate to go). It was worth every penny. I wouldn’t pay that for Oasis though.

Why anyone wants to see them I don't know. Their singing is crap and they are ignorant and horrible people.
Even just lately one of them has been telling people to stop moaning about prices.

How much of that was the tickets?? I loath oasis so I think you’re crazy but I expect you can sell them if you want. How much do you love Oasis?

Was that direct from the seller? Their web page are saying resale tickets will be cancelled unless through tickmaster and then only for the original amount

Will you be trying to make a profit?

I don't think people should be able to resell tickets. Maybe back to ticketmaster sure, but buying and selling straight on is what touts do and it stops those who were in the queue who did want to buy them and go to the concert.

No not interested in making a profit. Can't bare it when people do that, will probably end up keeping them, I just need to get over paying that amount!

I wouldn't pay that. One of those gigs where the crowd brings all the energy and atmosphere when they're the ones paying to be there.

You may be able to resell via Ticketmaster but will need to wait for the option to be activated. You may not have the tickets yet. It's nearly a year so you have plenty of time.

Can you book a cheaper hotel and make it feel less of a splurge? We got 4 tickets for less than that but will probably drive home same day or stay a bit out of the city. DH and I saw them last year and couldn’t resist bringing the teens this time.

too much for me. I could have bought some earlier today for £325 and even that was out of my price range.

How much were the tickets? We paid £110 each which I didn’t think was too bad. Travelodge was £349, we paid £30 for a room in the same one in Feb. I think we’ll get an uber home

You do you! 2 x people who have gone from rags to riches in true rock fashion. One could write some songs that captured a generation and have become anthems and his brother who like it or not has the IT factor when he walks onstage. From the dole to multi millionaires in relatively short time. Ignorant? Products of their upbringing/area but no doubt their own children will get the best education. Even the Gallaghers probably can't believe they got a second chance and it turned out more successful than the first.

If it’s via Ticketmaster you can re list the tickets so it should be fine to sell if needed. Demand is sufficient you will get your money back.

I needed two seats and two standing. The only ones I could get were seats+hotel.

Given that we live far from the venue, with everyone hiking their prices up, I think it will work out about the same.

It is a dear do I know. But it will be a one off and for once I just thought bugger it.

They charge what the market will pay. Good news is the tickets are an option. Pay/don't pay.

If you can afford it just go and enjoy it. People spend that kind of money of Botox, weekends away, decorating, fancy meals. You’ll have a great time.

I had a slot and we live near a venue but we decided that we could not justify £340 for one evening’s entertainment.

I love Oasis but sadly wasn't lucky in the ballot. I would have paid that much for a London gig no problem.

I saw them last time, and if I’m honest, I was disappointed, so no, I definitely wouldn’t pay that much.

Just go op. We paid 600 last year for two tickets and was amazing. Got two for 520 yday and don't regret it. I'd have paid 1k if that's all that was available.

@wendy1288 exactly this! I haven't booked as I didn't get a code, but if I had I'd have paid - grew up on oasis, loved them, still love them now. I said last year I wouldn't bother because I saw them in 2008 then got awful fomo when the gigs came around 🤣 I don't go to gigs much these days or actually do much for myself, if I'd have been able to bag a ticket I'd go for sure.

Argh - getting the tickets is hard work - I tried earlier for ages but every time I had some - went to basket and they’d gone. How does that even happen?? So utterly frustrating.
Anyway OP - I reckon you’ll be able to resell through Ticketmaster and recoup back if needed.
