AIBU to think of course all the anti-trans posts on this website and others are leading to real life harm?

Just seen a video of a trans woman minding her business in a train station getting horribly bullied by some Tommy Robinson wanna-be and couldn't help but think back to all the aggressive threads I've seen on Mumsnet.

Pages and pages of vilifying innocent trans people, calling them perverts and all sorts with zero evidence of anything of the sort of course would lead to people like this harassing and attacking trans people in public. I've see a few of so-called GC brigade say 'this isn't what we wanted' but it is the end, isn't it? If you do see trans people as disgusting abusive perverts trying to sneak into your changing rooms and hurt your daughter, you'd want them to be bashed in public yeah?

Am I wrong to think their chickens are coming home to roost and certain posters will want to claim they never had a hand in it all?

OP: MN is responsible for hate against transpeople
Rolls out a Tommy Robinson video on Twitter.

MN: how does that prove shit?

OP: MN is responsible for hate against transpeople
Rolls out a KJK tweet

MN: errrr maybe instead of blaming MN which deletes posts against community guidelines and has lots of posts critical of KJK and wouldn't give TR any time of day, maybe look at the common factor here.

Clue: It's not MN. MN is not responsible for content on another platform.

OP I suggest you go and take it up with Twitter.

Are you saying women's rights are 'far right'?

It gets funnier by the minute. I think Nadia Whittome believes they are.

StSpiridian · 15/09/2026 14:42

Just wanted to send ❤ to all the women bravely posting on here who have been abused by men. The cruelty of some trans activists nationally in trying to get men (including men who have been convicted of rape/ CSA/ domestic abuse & ID as women) - into female private spaces with their female victims- has been really awful to witness.

It reminded me of these pleas from female survivor/ victims about reality.

Don’t believe men are women? You must be “far right”! It’s the only answer.

Of course. And the only solution is to scream fascist at those bloody different, apparently far right women until they shut up and go away.

Unfortunately for them it hasn't worked yet, in spite of all their attempts.

Now this is a conundrum because I passionately support women's rights as much as I despise Nigel Farage.

So does that make me a far right women supporting, far right hater? 🤔

Gloriia · 15/09/2026 14:50

The quality of debate is always so very poor from the tras/allies. Their argument seems to consist of we're far right and hate trans people.

They really cannot accept we do no hate them at all but men identifying as woman are not women so should carry on using men's facilities.

Why can't they get this very simple fact?

I don't think so, because Nigel Farage doesn't actually support women.

You can’t compare women saying things about bad wigs etc on Mumsnet to men saying they want to rape and kill women. That’s just silly. There’s no “both sides” here. Women on MN are not threatening these men.

Ah, but a comment about a bad wig is actual genocide, which is obviously so much worse than anything said by the honorable representatives the pro trans lobby. Look what she made me do indeed.

Basic premise of the whole thread though. Man has issue with another man? Women must be held responsible. Men in dresses are scared of other men? Women must be kind and solve this.

Because a whole bunch of them are simply Incels.

All this talk of the Far Right has reminded me - I still haven't got that money GC women supposedly get given by the Far Right and American Christian groups for supporting their nefarious ways.

Yes, exactly. As if we haven’t had a zillion of these identikit threads. They all go exactly the same. Still waiting for the revelation of why I should support men’s claims to be women.

I don't think so, because Nigel Farage doesn't actually support women.

I imagine he "supports" women in that he sees them as possessions that should only be owned by White British men. That's what these men with their "protecting our women" shit mean - protecting them in the same way they don't want someone denting their car or kicking their dog. Because they have the rights and ownership, not because they care about the women.

It’s not even anything to do with the actual Tommy Robinson I don’t think, just some random loon “creating content”.

Totally agree. Was it something like 42% of the rioters in Southport etc were convicted of domestic abuse charges?

DizzyWhoreEighteenHundredAndFour · 15/09/2026 14:20

@AmberTigerEyes I'm a rape and DV survivor. Am I far right for saying that when I fled to a womens' refuge, I needed a female only space in which to recover from male violence? Am I far right for requiring female HCPs to perform intimate examinations and procedures? Am I far right for being afraid to be alone in a public toilet late in the evening with a man I don't know (as most women will, but those with a history of sexual assault/male violence are likely to feel this more acutely)?

What's really curious is that everyone who's ever known me has thought me to be a bit of 'lefty'. What a bizarre timeline we're on where women's requirements to safe, single sex spaces are considered far right, and are often trumped by the demands of men in order to 'be kind'.

Almost exactly the same here, as I know it is for other GC women I’ve spoken to.

Dancingsquirrels · 15/09/2026 15:33

I have sympathy for genuine TW. It must be very difficult

But single sex should mean single sex

And we need to be honest that males can never become female, whatever surgery / drugs they take. Emperor's New Clothes springs to mind

Yep. Women are always used as playing chips in men's cultural wars. Our role in this is to visually perform their cultural values, whether that means wearing the veil or unrobing with trans women. And they fight each other with fury over which group of men gets to decide what "good" women must do.

So depressingly true.

It became hugely clear to me back when France banned the burka. It was so fucking performative, as if it would do anything for the actual women in question other than trap them in their homes or force them into an impossible place between their friends/family/social network and the state. All about one group of men showing it has power over another group of men by forcing "their" women to do something.

FrippEnos · 15/09/2026 15:48

blacksax · 15/09/2026 12:16

Well exactly. It's not a problem for women to solve, is it?

Its not a problem that men can solve either as sharing a space with another man (however they present) isn't an issue for the vast majority of men.
