Just seen a video of a trans woman minding her business in a train station getting horribly bullied by some Tommy Robinson wanna-be and couldn't help but think back to all the aggressive threads I've seen on Mumsnet.

Pages and pages of vilifying innocent trans people, calling them perverts and all sorts with zero evidence of anything of the sort of course would lead to people like this harassing and attacking trans people in public. I've see a few of so-called GC brigade say 'this isn't what we wanted' but it is the end, isn't it? If you do see trans people as disgusting abusive perverts trying to sneak into your changing rooms and hurt your daughter, you'd want them to be bashed in public yeah?

Am I wrong to think their chickens are coming home to roost and certain posters will want to claim they never had a hand in it all?

What also irks me is, women defending their sex based rights are said to be aligned with Trump and Reform and the Right wing because those parties also say TIM are not women and don’t belong in women’s spaces, but if you say transpeople are aligned with the sexologists Volkmar Sirtusch, John Money et al, who were very instrumental in the rise of gender ideology, you’re wrong and misinformed and they have nothing in common.

Once again, do none of you have day jobs to be at? Only a few mins to reply just now but to answer your question I think all threats of violence are abhorrent but this thread was specifically about how social media, including mumsnet but also others, have whipped up mobs online that are now spilling over into the real world. That includes anti-trans, anti-immigrant and all the Andrew Tate ant-women nonsense.

as a direct response to the video I mentioned in the beginning.

So forgive me if, give this evidence clear as day, I don't believe the posters claiming they don't agree with her. She seems to be quite a figurehead and is actively saying that the innocent trans person in the video deserved what happened in that train station. Even calling for more!

Are you now going to tell me that actively calling for more of this behavior against trans women just going about their day in public is just pro-woman or can you have some decency to concede that this is anti-trans, plain and simple?

So let me get this right, you think threats of violence are abhorrent. So why are you not on Reddit, Bluesky et al telling the misogynistic men who make then to stop it? There are a million threads about KJK, usually started by people like the OP. It’s quite clear that most people admire much of what she has done but don’t endorse every statement she makes.

While not ideal I do think the solution we are heading to is all gender neutral facilities. I'm not personally thrilled with it but I'm sure many here are even less so.

I do think before we get there though there will be more harassing and violence for all minorities in this country as it seems many people have lost any sense of shame to keep their hateful opinions to themselves.

But the problem is TIM say they are unsafe in male spaces. If all spaces are mixed sex, won’t they be in just as much danger as the males they are scared of will be in there?

all single sex spaces at the moment are in fact “gender neutral”. No one cares what gender you are as long as you use the facilities relevant to your sex.

So gender neutral facilities - sacrificing the safety of women and girls - because they can be in the same space without hurting each other - for the desires of men ? Charming - collateral damage ?

I think this person has given the entire topic all of 5 seconds thought while scrolling.

For 'single lockable units' this actually puts people in danger as nobody knows if someone has fainted/collapsed/needs medical attention etc.

But transpeople are not a minority. All transpeople are either male or female. They just dress differently.
