Notwithstanding
Wireless ( as in the thing you listen on which you to Radio 4)

My Mum used to call the radio the wireless.

Same! Some of my very earliest memories are of my mum putting the 'wireless' on to listen to Radio 4. I was well versed in the Shipping Forecast long before I went to school, I just didn't know what any of it meant. 😄

In fact, I actually used to think the radio was called the 'whyless' because I'd misheard wireless and I'd never heard the word radio. 😄

I've just realised that I haven't worn a pullover since my granny died. It's only ever a jumper now.
