I've got an annual leave day today and am spending the morning shamelessly on the sofa watching daytime TV with cups of tea and biscuits after an exhausting school summer hols. Kids back at school today. I've given myself permission to vegetate till 3:15pm.
So here I am watching This Morning and have just spent 5 minutes with my jaw wide open and hand over my mouth at what Miriam Margolyes just said to Andi Peters.
Did anyone else see it??

She seems faux in awe of black people. She was on Norton with Will.I.Am - she was correcting his grammar and way of speaking. To be fair he was lapping it up, they became friends and she has stayed with him in America. She literally has no filter. She is astute, she knows what her USP now is, but would see her asking him that question as showing interest in him. They need to drop her off the chat show round now, she has had her time. It was amusing once, not now.

As an aside, Christine Lampard, lovely lass but absolutely useless as an anchor. She stumbles over her words on a non controversial subject so when things get awkward she sits mute. I watched her earlier this week interviewing that Italian Strictly dancer who had bullying accusations with Amanda Abington. She was completely quiet, leaving Craig Doyle to do the tricky stuff. CD kept looking at her as if to say contribute. So I can imagine she would be on nervous giggle mode with Miriam M. She must have friends in high places.

I feel awful for Andi. He absolutely shouldn’t be spoken to like that.

I read part of an interview she just did with the Guardian. Hideous, going on about farting every other sentence. And when asked if she still fancies her partner (who very understandably lives in a different country and only sees MM 8 times a year) said ‘do you mean does she still make me wet?”. Ugh, why the need to rephrase it to make it more coarse.

im not surprised she has such a colonial mentality. I’m mixed heritage and I’ve never heard that term although have heard many others, particularly about shades/ grading and I believe it comes directly from from slavery times.

I have had the misfortune to spend a lot of time around older rich people who have these stinking attitudes , people often attribute it to their age and excuse it but there’s plenty of older people who absolutely are not racist.

Awful woman. I didn’t know much about her apart from she’s been on tv when I was little. Several years ago I tried to LISTEN to her autobiography. I normally finish everything but I found her self obsessed, self promoting, narcissistic and contradictory edge-lord.
Hopefully enough people will complain to make it clear it’s not ok.
