to think that Amy Winehouse should be publically removed from media and press coverage

Ok I do have major family problems with a cocaine addict for a brother who is making our life HELL.
So I may be a "tad" sensitive about these drug taking fuckers who make millions and are adored by gullable young people.

But surely its got to be stopped!

She is totally out of it on BBC2 at glastonbury and she was a disgrace on the Nelson Mandela concert yesterday too.

4

Twelvelegs · 30/06/2008 14:51

Bundle why are you typing 4 everywhere?

claricebeansmum · 30/06/2008 14:54

She is extremely talented and has a great voice.

She is living the rock'n'roll lifestyle like those other posters have mentioned. Billy Holliday was a heroin addict and she reminds me very much of her. There is so much soul and feeling in her singing.

It is sad that such talent in one so young is tainted by her lifestyle and I fear she won't be around for much longer. She has emphasyma (sp?) already and many more health problems will no doubt follow but not everyone is going to be a clean living (but a bit boring) Chris Martin.

brightongirldownunder · 30/06/2008 14:54

Yes bundle?
Did you mean $?
Its my lucky number so I'm happy to be followed by a 4!

ruty · 30/06/2008 14:57

i think she is great, very talented and intelligent. But such a bloody shame she is so addicted. i do think she shouldn't get hired to perform u ntil she sorts herself out, for her own sake.

CacklingHag · 30/06/2008 15:17

I taught her when she was 12 and can confirm that she is very bright. Thought her performance at Glastonbury was rough. Shame she's so hell-bent on self-destruction.

theressomethingaboutmarie · 30/06/2008 15:20

But to do it "publicly" would give her even more publicity which is exactly what you don't want

Just watched her on youtube and enjoyed Mr Jones song and thought that everyone slagging her off was being extremely unfair but then she went on to sing "weehab" and it is dreadful, out of tune, slurry and she proceeded to punch someone in the face three times during the "performance" for pulling her wig/ groping her (depending on what you read).. not a pretty site.

Ok get it Lapin.
Will keep it in mind for later date, though it would have to be my lucky bloody number that doesn't give a toss.

I don't think she knows what she's doing publicly now, TSAM. Thats whats so sad.

girlywhirly · 30/06/2008 16:25

I think we've had the best Amy Winehouse has to offer; now that she has emphysema, and refuses to give up her tobacco and crack habits, we can expect her to go downhill rapidly. Emphysema causes irreversible lung tissue damage, which will kill her eventually, and her singing is already suffering. My feeling is that she will take a fatal overdose, rather than end up in a wheelchair on permanent oxygen.

I can't imagine what the family are going through. It is always the family who suffer, not just the addict.

LIlymolly, I hope you're getting the support you need.

lilymolly · 30/06/2008 16:52

Perhaps I was a little harsh in my OP title.

I personally think she should get serious help now and I do feel sorry for her.
However, my point is that she should not be asked to perform at such events is she is that poor;y which she seems to be.

Her "people" her friends and her family should be stopping her and the BBC and ITV should not show her on TV

Emphysyma is an horrifc lung disease, we as normal people would be off sick , NOT carrying on with our jobs as normal it is wrong and I am almost temted to suggest that the media should show some balls and refrain from using her until she is wee.

Thanks girlywhirly I am actually not getting the support I need, but hey thats another story..............

Not saying it was wrong Dittany, just the whole performance was not a particularly pretty site.

wannaBe · 30/06/2008 17:03

but talent is subjective. What to one is fantastically talented isn't to another and vice versa.

And I don't think she is fantastically talented. Or ever was.
