AIBU to be deeply concerned about the sheer number of unchecked undocumented unknown men coming into the UK?

This is some dystopian lord of the flies hell. Those poor women. Burned on the boat. Wth. Poor man stabbed to death. Why are the people that did this then going to be roaming free in the UK? Why are they allowed to enter the UK in the first place? Why are gangs not being 'smashed'?

Why won't the government tell us the truth about their crime rates?

UN Warns Britain over Accepting Too Many Fake Asylum Seekers

Britain’s asylum system has come under a fresh wave of criticism after the United Nations refugee agency warned that failures in Home Office interviewing procedures risk granting protection to illegal migrants who are not entitled to asylum.

The warning, which originally appeared in the conclusions of an earlier report, resurfaced on Tuesday amid an escalating political row over asylum fraud, just a day after a Home Office decision-maker told The Times that, in their assessment, only around ‘one in 100’ asylum applications were genuine and alleged that applicants were using recycled stories and so-called ‘package claims’ to secure the right to remain.

Conservative Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philip says:
Great whistleblower reporting from the Times today
Only 1% of asylum claims are actually genuine. Many make the same claims, advised by the same lawyers We need to implement the Conservative plan to end this scam - no asylum claims by illegal immigrants and leave the ECHR so we can deport them on arrival We are being taken for fools by illegal immigrants and their enabling lawyers

Not that I disagree with the basic premise - the BBC did an investigation into fake claims and how they’re enabled - but why is this talk of the UN being involved only coming from ‘Hungarian Conservative’?

Good question - one can only wonder why. Like why won't the Labour gvt publish migrant crime data? it is a puzzle..

The earlier report linked.
' Only 52% of decisions met the Home Office’s quality
standards in 2023/2024 – the lowest on record – and 45% of refusals reviewed by the First-tier Tribunal were
overturned in the year ending March 2025. Many of these issues stem from shortcomings in the interview
process, including insufficient probing, failure to clarify inconsistencies, and missed opportunities to establish
key facts. UNHCR’s observations suggest that many cases are being progressed to the decision stage without
being ready.
>
While improving overall quality of decisions will require a multifaceted response, UNHCR considers that one
critical area for improvement is asylum interviews. Unless Decision-Makers are able to gather reliable, relevant
and detailed information at the asylum interview, and properly test the credibility of that information, it will
not be possible to reach an accurate or sustainable decision.
This research, conducted by UNHCR through the Quality Protection Partnership, explores the scope for
improving the quality of asylum interviews in the UK. Drawing on a review of 60 asylum interviews, extensive
discussions with Decision-Makers and stakeholders across the asylum process, and an assessment of
existing training and support tools, UNHCR considers that there is a clear opportunity to improve the use
of questioning techniques, further develop tools and training and enhance quality assurance. '

'The unidentified official who worked for years processing and assessing asylum claims said that there is an epidemic of people using the 'same script' to try and gain asylum in the UK.

He also spoke about 'package claims' - for example a large number of Iraqi Kurds who claimed asylum saying they had been in a relationship with the daughter of the prime minister of the Kurdistan region.

The whistleblower also told The Times that 'hundreds' of claims had been made by Pakistani applicants who claimed their lives were in danger in their home country - because they were in a gay relationship with the same man who had supplied letters backing up their claims.

He also raised concerns about applicants from Bangladesh who said they were dissidents of the former governing party which is now banned - but they were unable to answer basic questions about the group.'

As they (and others like them - religion, say no more) give votes to Labour (as with other similar governments across Europe, Germany, France, Spain anyone), there will be zero action from Labour. They will take in as many asylum seekers as they can, to keep everyone dependent on the state. Just how they like it. And fck everyone else. Especially the women and children at risk from unchecked predatory males, and especially tax payers. As a female high rate tax payer with daughters - I hate this Labour government. They do nothing for me or my family - in fact they take take and take more. If my kids weren't in education here, we'd have moved away by now.

Fortunately the days of the left shutting down any unease and concern about the huge numbers of people, particularly men, who have no desire to integrate and whose cultures are incompatible with Western values are over

It is indeed fortunate that those days are over, @LoveItaly, but a lot of people had a lot of fun telling anyone who raised these issues - no matter how rationally - how racist they were and you can't expect them to appreciate others waking up

And we can't "make" France do anything, @Parker231, though we could certainly stop paying them millions to take measures they've no intention of adopting.
As ever the French will prioritise what suits them - something we could perhaps learn from - but I'm not sure what's to stop us intercepting boats, towing them back to the French coast and leaving them there. I don't imagine they'd be pleased, but with enough effort the issue could well solve itself once it was absorbed that they're really not going to reach the UK like this

We couldn't just enter French territorial waters without their approval (sovereignty is a thing) as it would be considered a hostile act of aggression.

Fury grows at pro-immigration Labour MP now upset at migrants moving to her town

The Labour MP has fumed at the Government's plan to house 1,200 migrants in North Yorkshire.

A Labour MP has been branded a "hypocrite" after opposing a Government plan to house migrants near her constituency. Rachael Maskell fumed at the proposal to house 1,200 at RAF Linton-on-Ouse in North Yorkshire, mentioning shortages of water, sewage capacity and the supply of electricity. “It’s just the wrong site," she said, adding that the base is located next to a primary school and nursery. There are only four buses a day into York, Ms Maskell also said.

Migrants and refugees welcome here… just not near me! Green deputy leader complains about 600 asylum seekers being housed in her local area

Green deputy leader Rachel Millward is leading opposition to the housing of 600 asylum seekers in her local area - despite her party's vow to 'welcome' migrants.
In a recent letter to the Home Office, Ms Millward complained about Government plans to temporarily use a military site in East Sussex as asylum accommodation.
She said her 'strong objection' to the use of Crowborough training camp for housing migrants was based on 'safety' fears for both locals and asylum seekers themselves.
Ms Millward, who is also deputy leader of Wealden District Council, penned a joint letter with the local authority's leader James Partridge, a Liberal Democrat.
It stated: 'We simply do not have information to reassure us that the wellbeing and safety of both asylum seekers and local communities will be properly safeguarded.'
The councillors added that 'quite clearly accommodating 600 men on one site with no right to work brings significant risks'.
They expressed their concerns about staffing resources at the camp, policing, and 'the additional strain on already over-stretched public services'.

I think there is a specific problem on this case because the village due to provide housing has a population of 1200 according to Wikipedia (who got it from the census).

Adding in 1200 male asylum seekers will double that population. A local group there points out that it means there will be 1 woman to every 6 men and 1 child to 18 adults. Being a small village with little to do and with limited transport to a large settlement it is a recipe for disaster. It is not somewhere I would want to be and not a situation I would wish on local women.

I don’t agree with more men in the country at all though, for these same reasons.
