for me it is people who dont say thank you when you step of the pavement into the road so that they can get past.
people who step on the back of your shoe and dont apologise.
and people who dont use caps correctly

and im sure i will be back with more!

When friend phones me and said friend says nothing but put her DD's who are 20mnths and 5months on phone when neiher can talk! And then when you finally get to talk to said friend she is too busy watching TV and constantly says what? ARGH

thumbwitch · 18/07/2008 13:25

sim43, you need to get unwaxed fruit if you are going to use the zest - the wax is for protection against fungus (i.e. contains a fungicide) and unless it states it is unwaxed, all lemons will be waxed (not sure baout oranges but probably; apples too)

Countingthegreyhairs · 18/07/2008 13:34

oh yes those headbands on bald babies make them look like deranged Easter eggs ...

prob not irrational enough for this list but completely farked off at the moment with interior design magazines. (We are renovating.) You look at a picture and you think "wow that's great" then you look again and the room contains no shelving, no storage, no children's toys, no telly and no bin. However, it does contain a piece of twisted wire otherwise known as a chair that will support only half a buttock - oh yes and they've painted the floor white - white fgs!!!!!!! Arrrrgggghhhhhh

thumbwitch · 18/07/2008 13:41

lol at Countingthegreyhairs

Sim43 · 18/07/2008 13:42

Still tastes like wax though, chewy and vile when in the mouth!

Youngbutnotdumb: I agree, also don't like it when talking to another mum and their DC comes up and interrupts the conversation, mother completely ignores adult she is talking to and listens to the child. I'm not talking about toddlers here, but schoolchildren. I get sick of being cut of mid conversation cause child has something more important to say. You should teach your DC to wait or if nothing else "excuse me".

Sim43 · 18/07/2008 13:50

I also don't like Robbie Williams, he is vile, dont like also:

Jo Lo - maybe cause DP likes her and her great big bum!

Julia Roberts- Why does she do that inane throw back the head laughing like a drain thing in EVERY film she does.

Liam Gallagher / Noel Gallagher - Yuk Yuk Yuk, all the songs sound the same, they are rude, obnoxious, big headed and revolting.

ScottishMummy · 18/07/2008 14:32

swearing on MN annoys me.sign of having last the plot to resort to potty mouth antics

PheasantPlucker · 18/07/2008 14:46

Oh, swearing on MN is the opposite for me - it is something I love irrationally!

Sim43 · 18/07/2008 14:48

Ha Ha LOL

Sim43 · 18/07/2008 14:49

Welcome to the real world SM

ScottishMummy · 18/07/2008 14:53

oh how kind to extend salutations to me Sim.lil ole me

Sim43 · 18/07/2008 14:54

Your very welcome!

Sim43 · 18/07/2008 14:58

I have read swearing on posts SM that have made me , yet you still continue to have a go at me about some really quite mild words used yesterday! And you were the one that said Dog with bone etc. Tsk Tsk! Give it a rest eh?

ScottishMummy · 18/07/2008 14:59

well lets hope everyone has a convivial and conducive ole time here on MN

ScottishMummy · 18/07/2008 15:05

sim you need to calm down.frankly i dont recall who/what/when on MN because i switch off and switch off i suggest you are being bitty touchy and highly sensitised if you attribute everyone of my posts as being directed to you

hey i also said i find slow payers in queue's annoying.

gosh what if that was subliminally directed at you that time you couldnt find your purse...

oh no what if the whole MN world is against you Sim

do you often feel persecuted by starngers?
do you ofetn feel inoccous posts are directed solely at you?

do you honestly think i recall wht is saidf on MN

I dont because i have a life

Sim43 · 18/07/2008 15:10

No you said directly after my post how you don't like swearing, bit of a coincidence after last nights posting don't you think.

ipanemagirl · 18/07/2008 15:13

Many of these posted irritations are NOT irrational imho!

Dog owners who let their dogs leave huge steaming piles of crap on the pavement - Let the CCTV cameras trounce all our privacy so they can catch some of those cretinous people and send them away in a ship to an island and never ever ever release them ever ever. Ever.

ipanemagirl · 18/07/2008 15:15

I am a passionate and ardent opposer of capital punishment. But for those dog owners.... I can feel my stance weaken.

WHO ARE these people? WHY do they let their dogs do it??????

ScottishMummy · 18/07/2008 15:17

sim you infer too much from an innoccous post.i dont call it coincidence i call it random order posting, nothing else.

do you frequently feel got at?
are you very sensitive?
why cant you differntiate one thread from another -frankly bad form to drag your subjective feelings about one thread on to another unrelated thread

dont know how long you have been MN, but get used to fact you may disagree with posters but that does not make it personal. so nor should you personalise it

i dont

i cant recall who i spoke to on MN and dont harbour MN grudges

neither should you

move on sim

Sim43 · 18/07/2008 16:17

I had mmoved on SM, YOU came on to a post I had been on quite a while and made what I thought was sarcastic comment. To say the postings were random is a joke. Your posting was made nearly 45 minutes after mine. Not exactly sent at the same time were they? Or have your got a V-E-R-Y S-L-O-W C-O-M-P-U-T-E-R ? I don't harbour grudges, but anyone reading last nights postings and then seeing yours today would agree that it was you being your usual patronsing, sarcastic self. In answer to your questions:

No I do not feel got at.

No am not super sensitive.

Just leave me alone and go and get on with your life. Have a spiffing weekend!

herewegoagain02 · 18/07/2008 16:32

I'm a receptionist and it winds me up when people checking in see you walking towards them and greeting them and they still feel the need to ring the BLOODY BELL!! Aaaarrrgggghhh

potatofactory · 18/07/2008 17:48

I've got to say. uncomfortable bickering on MN is a bit annoying. It's so frequent! And uncomfortable. Please don't have a go at me!!!!

Back to the thread - loud turning of newspaper pages

loud swallowing (some people are definitely louder than others)

loud cutlery on plate

lots of loud things. Loud yawning.

people getting fussy with bills because they didn't drink (or whatever)

Definitely people putting their children on the phone. SO annoying.

People who don't lower their voices when they walk into really small shops (or other confined places)

potatofactory · 18/07/2008 18:48

my ability to kill a thread by even considering posting a comment! Quite a talent...

ScottishMummy · 18/07/2008 19:30

sim i work FT my posts are wholly random dependent on my PC access

dont read any other inference from this.

no one needs to leave you alone, as you are not under attack.however clearly my posts irk you. so you don't like my posts. fair enough.

can i suggest a reflective restraint, next time you disagree with another poster or don't like their style will you need to ask them to leave you alone?otherwise MN will potentially be stressful, taking every contrary opinion to heart.

Hey remember t'was you swore at me - then got the hump when other posters told you to be more reasonable

so anyway can i reassure you i genuinely dont recall most of MN or who said what/when/why

but better to hopefully end my contribution on this post

maybe if we post together it will be easier going - i hope so

noonki · 18/07/2008 19:56

things I find really irrationally annoying-

when people constantly used your name when talking to you

being called madam by customer services

mockney accents

people that refer to each other as mummy and daddy

the cardboard from the loo roll never ever being put in the bin by anyone other than me ever.

being asked to spell my name (both now need it since I got married and I hate it)

god I could go on and on, i must be really easily annoyed
