for me it is people who dont say thank you when you step of the pavement into the road so that they can get past.
people who step on the back of your shoe and dont apologise.
and people who dont use caps correctly

and im sure i will be back with more!

OP posts:
Lowfat · 02/07/2008 17:19

People who smell each crisp before they eat it (DH)

bergentulip · 02/07/2008 17:27

People who say "off of..." ie, "oh, you know, so-and-so off of the tellie...."

or even worse, "so-and-so off of Cambridge/London/Milton Keynes...." !!!??? What the?? FROM, these people are FROM these towns, and they are ON the tv!!

liger · 02/07/2008 18:22

people who ignore my child when he is trying to engage them in conversation, especially when they are in our home! He may be small but he is entitled to an opinion, and if you are not interested in the brick/toy/food he is showing you, at least have the courtesy to make eye contact, and perhaps smile!

Drives me mad.

MERLYPUSS · 02/07/2008 21:09

Amex. They just phoned at 2 mins to 9pm. Woke DTs. Then tried to sell cancer care cover or something. (DP recently bereaved to cancer)

stitch · 02/07/2008 21:10

dh

CaptainUnderpants · 02/07/2008 21:22

The Mother who turns up at school drop off dressed immaculatly in tennis whites ,(which includes a very short skirt !) tanned legs aswell !

But I did notice today that she has saggy knees

mrsbabookaloo · 02/07/2008 23:16

Oh, the word "tot". Hate it. Someone actually used it earlier in this thread, and I agreed with what she was saying. But she said "tot" Ugh.

mrsbabookaloo · 02/07/2008 23:21

BergenTulip: it was your second to last one that I was thinking of, but I couldn't explain it.

Why are people so competitive, so freaking antsy, so desperate to be first on and off the plane? It's just hurry up and wait with airports and plane journeys anyway. If you're first off the plane, you've got to wait longer for your luggage. Chill please!

I'm used to being the most anxious person in any given group of people and being round people who are more irrationally anxious than me makes me...anxious.

thumbwitch · 02/07/2008 23:50

I also hate the word tot, not sure why.

I have a horrible confession - it used to irritate me the way mums talked to their DC in the 3rd person about themselves, i.e. Mummy will do that for you etc. Now I am a mummy, I do it all the time so serves me right {blush]

bergentulip · 03/07/2008 07:44

Exactly MrsBaboo....... anxiety spreads anxiety!

egypt · 03/07/2008 07:47

shop assistants to give you your change and put the FARKING COINS ON TOP OF THE NOTES. they all seem to do this. your other hand is holding your purse, you have to sliiiiiide the coins in first, half of them drop on the floor....grrrrrrrr

beaniesteve · 03/07/2008 07:52

Seconded the word 'tot' specially when used in a mawkish way by newspapers or people who read tabloids. YUK!

the word 'bubba' too.

AbbeyA · 03/07/2008 08:25

I feel a bit guilty here-I chat in the middle of supermarket aisles (there is never anywhere to get out of the way), I 'fanny about' parking my car, I squeeze toothpaste in the middle, I only like 'real' coffee, I hadn't realised there was a correct way to hang toilet rolls and I quite like being called 'love' (I was called 'duck' quite a lot when I went away last weekend).

I hate the supermarket 3 for the price of 2 offers-I just want ONE at a lower cost.
I hate people saying 'I understand what you are saying' when they mean that they are no going to do anything whatever about the thing upsetting you.
Also new figures of speech such as 'blue sky thinking' or 'thinking outside the box'.
People who snort cocaine and make out it is acceptable by calling it a 'recreational drug'
Smokers who don't think that cigarette ends are litter.
People who don't read a whole thread and start as new on page 10 something that was thoroughly aired and sorted on page 4!

Bink · 03/07/2008 10:46

Adding another to my list of horrid little licky-spitty noises - people who lick their finger to turn a page. Ugh, both the yucky little noise, and the residual slime splodge on the page. Ugh.

Bonifacio · 03/07/2008 15:10

Ooh I have millions, most to do with dp!

Eating slowly
DP picks his ears with his glasses
DP picks his nose
DP leaves wet towels on the floor instead of putting them back on the rail 2 feet in front of his nose
DP puts white washing in the dark washing basket and vice versa
DP untucks the top sheet in bed, I like it tucked in
People who don't have top sheets
DP leaves the lid off the toothpaste
People whose houses smell of cats / dogs
People who think all people who have cats / dogs houses will smell
When I talk to my mum about anything parenting her opinion is always the opposite and she always says "well it never did you any harm"
People I don't know trying to talk to me when I am trying to have a starbucks
People who touch other people bumps without asking (even worse if they don't even know them)
People who come too close
Touchy feely people
People who talk while I am watching a programme on tv
People who let their children / babies sip alcohol out of glass bottle etc

My DP's about me:
I leave bottle tops on the side instead of putting them in the bin
I chew too loudly
I complain about untucked covers
I don't listen if I am watching telly
I squeeze from the middle of the toothpaste
I waste food
I cook unhealthy meals when all he wants is salad

I can't think of anymore but I am sure there are loads!! have I won the biggest list!!

jumpingbeans · 03/07/2008 15:11

today EVERYTHING

Bonifacio · 03/07/2008 15:17

Just thought of 2 more:

Slow drivers
People who tap, or make any form of movement when sat down that I can feel through the furniture. I think I am definately irrational!

Carnival · 03/07/2008 15:21

Dragonbutter, can I just say that I breathed a huge sigh of relief when you said coathangers. They jump out of the wardrobe and attack this innocent mother, who is merely trying to go about her housework in a sensible fashion. I secretly think the are the devil's spawn.

Ahhhh, that feels better

MummyAnnabella · 03/07/2008 15:29

people who take the lift for one floor (bite tongue to avoid calling then lazy bas*ds!)

people who say cheer up it may never happen (bite tongue to avoid saying it just did i am on the way to the morgue to identify my dhs body)

shop assistants who give you change receipt and loyalty card all at once - how many hands do i have??!

Mikafan · 03/07/2008 15:59

hiccups
hangers (they always get caught together when you only want one)
drivers who carry on in a lane which has a sign saying its closed and expect something to let them in right at the end
no one but me emptying the front room bin even though its overflowing

mrsbabookaloo · 03/07/2008 23:00

egypt... THANK YOU for your coins and notes comment. I never even thought to be irritated about this as I thought there was something wrong with me that I was too inept to manage purse and two types of money, but yes, ALL shop assistants do it and it's infuriating!

cafebistro · 03/07/2008 23:10

Toast crumbs...yes they infuriate me! Especially when the kitchen floor has just been cleaned and your MIL makes toast and brushes all the crumbs off the counter on to the floor!!

egypt · 04/07/2008 01:33

omg cafebistro. get her to kick them off the floor

love your name

VintageGardenia · 10/07/2008 16:37

Can I just check with Bowddee and thumbwitch - what is the right way round??? I have no idea which way round I put it... I had no idea people were noticing either!!

TeacherSaysSo · 10/07/2008 16:42

Women who bang on about the latest faddy diet they're on.
