AIBU to think moustaches have unfortunate associations?

I’m slightly perturbed by the trend.

Yes!! I assume this is because I grew up in the 80s so they just look like out of date and from the 70s

The 20/30s women I work with really like them. But they totally give me 1970s ick!

I've just been to the US and there were a lot of young men/older teenagers with moustaches. I assumed it was a MAGA or Andrew Tate thing to express manhood and get back to the real America where men are men. They all looked silly.

I see quite a lot of moustaches on men in their 20s, they’re having a bit of a moment.

I detest facial hair. Beards or moustaches! I hate the current trend for them.

When I was a kid, it was most unusual for anyone to have facial hair and those that did were old!

Stubble was a thing in my teenage years (not me personally - that’s now common in my 50’s!!!) like George Michael in his faith era.

But no, moustaches and beards should have been left in the Victorian era!!

Doesn’t he get filed under Village People? It was a classic gay moustache late 70s/80s.

That’s not to say it didn’t work for him. Although it is why I thought Burt Reynolds was gay.

I thought Adam Rothenberg’s moustache in Ripper Street was quite attractive.

I had a piano tuner who had a pleasingly curly moustache, which was entirely suitable on him!

However, my very sensitive skin does not appreciate men with facial hair of any description. Snog rash is not a good look to have to endure!

A couple of men in Asda, with a trolley full of bread and bacon, the loud "Look how great I am, catering for the boys' football club!" and his very quiet moustachioed, mulleted sidekick gave me big worries for those boys.

Me too. The recent fashion for beards just meant that actors etc all looked the same to me.

Absolutely, like the peado glasses trend men went through a few years back which made them all look like famous 90/00's pedo portraits. Guy on Love Is Blind sports one and all I can think of is Matilda's Dad the used car salesman and other weaselly characters in children's books. They'd be sporting chequered suits and be oh so charming...

Yeah I am not a fan. The massive plastic glasses and moustaches that are in fashion just now for the youngsters look absolutely bizarre to me.

Absolutely. In polite company I call them creepy moustaches but honestly it makes people look (in my eyes) like a paedophile (and I know I'm unreasonable but it's the vibe they give off).

It's probably a good thing because a lot of 20s actors and singers appear to be adopting this look and I'm way too old to fancy them.

But I find them really icky. Mark Owen had one and it was disgusting.
