'Don't rape, sexually assault or make kissing noises' at people, asylum seekers warned in guidance about living in UK

UK arrivals have been told to treat women equally, not sexually assault partners or have sex with children in a new Home Office pamphlet. As well as the guidebook, a series of posters have also been designed by the government.'

@somethigelse2 don’t engage with him. - he’s enjoying the wind up …. Prat

You have already disclosed the fact that women tell you when they are distressed, and you don’t pass this on to the relevant professional. Do you not understand that distress, depending on its severity, can impact on a child’s safety? You’re so rigid in your thinking as a support worker in a DV charity, that you’re willing to side step basic child safeguarding?

Wow.

You are a fantasist. And you are absolutely not a clinical psychologist 🤦‍♀️.

That’s enough internet for today.

I don’t want all men to be horrible and abusive. But like child safeguarding we need to believe there is the potential and believe victims. This is not vile. This is life and you come across as very naive in your viewpoint

Sorry but safeguarding is not labelling all men as possible abusers! Which is something you have done in various posts.

Also women can and do abuse too. Domestic abuse against men is known to be very under reported. Women can and do abuse children.

Believing the victim yes

You fail to understand when you label all men a abusers you are also putting a label on male children! One day those little boys and young men will all suddenly want to abuse women according to the logic you are using. Which blatantly is complete rubbish.

Lol there are levels. You don’t understand. Confidential is confidential unless I believe there is risk. A woman crying because she is stressed and saying social services is shit is not something you break confidentiality over…
I don’t think you’re qualified. You’re throwing safeguarding around without any nuance or understanding for the real world 😂😂

Ha yes it is.
i label all adults as potential abusers too. That’s safeguarding in a nutshell. Abuse happens, it happens here and believe it does.

all little boys do have the potential to grow up into abusers and as mothers we need to stamp it out. Excusing it and pretending it doesn’t happen isn’t helping anyone

Humans are awful. Humans with power are worse. Who has the power in our society?
evil is banal and it’s scary because the bad guys often believe they are reasonable. We must constantly check and challenge our beliefs to avoid becoming like them and enabling them.
yes I’m jaded and cynical but the world is a grim place and the sooner we accept and believe this the sooner we can change it

Safeguarding is not seeing everyone as potential abusers. Where the he'll do you get this stuff from. You are literally talking rubbish. Safeguarding is about prevention, support for well being, support for potentally vulnerable groups or individuals and a whole lot of other stuff but defiantly not labelling everyone as possible abusers. That is in fact counter to what safeguarding is about because it could have very harmful consequences to vulnerable individuals.

The lack of knowledge and naivety in understanding basic principles of social care or safeguarding you have shown on this thread I really do honour have lied about your job! As someone that has worked in schools and residential children's homes I actually find some of the thing you have posted very disturbing and offensive indeed.

I do wonder if your absolute cynicism is helpful though, both in your job and in your life generally. Yes, the world is corrupt but your blanket disregard for men is unhealthy.

lol ok so tell me about your safeguarding training that didn’t start with…
abuse happens and it can happen here and you need to believe it?!
I don’t believe your stories either. I know no social workers who think the system is perfect or are as naive as you. Most want to quit because there is nothing to give to families, barely any early intervention, mash can do nothing. Etc.

Maybe you’re right. I do see the worst, luckily my husband is as feminist as me and hates most men and the patriarchy too 😂

You OK

Making stuff up in your head now or mixing me up with someone else

I have not said I am a social worker. Wouldn't want to be either.

I said I have worked in schools and residential children's homes.

Yes social workers are under a lot of pressure and a lot won't last. That is about the only thing you have said in all these posts that is pretty true.

The average IQ in these nations now comes to mind

There is interesting data on that, too.

Although I’m sure many will claim that’s fake as well.

somethigelse2 · 24/08/2026 22:49

Hahaha what am I apologising for? I said all men are terrible, culture has fuck all to do with it

How do you explain then the far more appalling way in which women and children are treated in many of the countries these men are coming from, if culture is not relevant?

Many of them have no laws against marital rape, or beating your wife and children, or sexually abusing children, or “marrying” and raping children, or treating women effectively as slaves and imprisoning them in the house unable to go out without a man, “selling” children as slaves/ abuse victims, they do nothing about gang rapes of women which are commonplace and even punish women for being raped if they report it.

And you think that their culture has no impact on their values and behaviour?

The men coming here from such places have been raised with these cultural “values”. They aren’t going to have an epiphany because they are given a leaflet. Do you think none of them participated in the horrific crimes above, which the societies they were raised in consider to be the norm?

SomethingHasGotToBeDoneAboutYourKids · 25/08/2026 07:08

5MinuteArgument · 24/08/2026 23:10

So you'd be happy if we bought you a one-way ticket to Afghanistan where you can live out your days in a country where families sell their daughters to old men ... or maybe a one way ticket to Sudan where you might get to be the recipient of FGM.

After all, all men are the same, so what's the difference?

Exactly.

I simply fail to understand why their phones can’t be checked. They may throw away their papers, but I can’t believe they don’t connect with “home” once here. It’s absolutely astonishing to me that the rights of some man turning up in this country trumps the safety of its citizens.

It's totally laughable that the government think a pamphlet will change the behaviour of men from an entirely different culture. Not sure if I am catastrophising here bit if given any settled status and the right to vote could start to have a significant impact on women's and children's rights that are currently enshrined in UK law. There is also limited balance in that the majority are overwhelmingly male. There is already evidence of sharia law existing in the UK, why this is not being tackled is beyond me.

The heckling of Jess Philips win and the heckling of her reportedly from groups of men from ethnic cultures leaves me very uncomfortable, I don't necessarily agree with her but it was more concerning around the reaction.

Not saying the UK is perfect but by an accident of birth am so relieved that I'm a woman in the UK and not one of Afghanistan Syria etc

Yet Jess Phillips is hardly the saviour women need. Her and Angela Rayner were happy to by pass cultural behaviour to retain their seats. Agree with your post though.
