That costs a LOT of money, your job (Elton John, selling millions of records, making money from tours etc.) has to bring a consistent large income stream to do that or you need serious family wealth, they had that via the taxpayer if they did their Royal chores but by striking out on their own they would need serious talent or business smarts to even come close to matching a fraction of the Royal lifestyle and keeping it going, they shot their bolt on a book and some TV fluff, that money will be sucked away by court fees, they are obviously not particularly talented at anything that would single them out from the masses of people trying to sell content nowadays so once the fame/self-pity thing is tapped out there is not much else?

Yours is rather a mixed up post.

The case wasn't "based on illegal content gathering" or it would have succeeded. The case was based on illegal re-presenting of old stories as new content, which is, in part, why it failed.

And the journo friend of Harry's was always known to him as a journalist - she didn't go in "undercover" and he denied and denied the text exchanges between them had occurred (despite obviously knowing they had cos he was sending them!) until proof of them meant he could deny no more.

As for talking about his own family that's a whole other 'thing' and not connected to this latest court case but he knew 'the family' wouldn't go public with any rebuttal because they don't do public grievance so he threw all that shade at them knowing they wouldn't publicly defend themselves. That's nasty. You have a problem with family, speak to them don't go on Oprah!

Totally agree. My partner knows a reporter for the DM and whilst his a lovely, fun guy, the things I’ve heard about him and the way ‘they’ operate is appalling. They would climb over their colleagues dead body to get their moment in the spotlight - it’s that bad.

That's the DM. Not all media are like that and there must be freedom to investigate. The people bringing this action want no media to be able to investigate them, and that is really dangerous for our democracy. I am relieved Harry and Co. lost.

Really… I dislike Charles and Andrew, as they have both fraternised with pederasts. Charles defending the pedo priest, writing letters on his behalf and helping him secure accommodation, along with his close bond with Uncle Dickie, and Andrew’s association with Epstein, are all deeply disturbing to me. I want to see 15 articles in the DM about this. I want to see it every day, over and over again, until people actually start caring about the issues that are important. Harry’s antics are used as a scapegoat. Honestly, I can’t believe people are more offended by him upsetting his granny than by his dad and uncle associating with paedophiles. To be clear, I’m not remotely offended by him. I was just saying that I don’t find it surprising if staunch royalists aren’t his biggest fans.
