To be a bit gleeful about Harry's court case

Serves him right. He's made millions from Netflix, book deals and accusing them of being racist. Bit odd he's now coming back.

Will the King pay his debts.I hope not. Now the long suffering public will be fleeced for his security costs which will be around £5m a yea r. And they wonder why they are unpopular.

I just want them to go away' because the only thing that will make them ' go away' and live a quiet life is if the press don't publish 1000 stories from every tiny thing they do. The only way they will do that is if the interest dies down, but there are people keeping the whole thing alive by desperately searching for every single utterance of theirs so they can be outraged by it. The threads on here are just ridiculous! How many are there?

Absolutely. Those that want them to go away are keeping them in the forefront by clicking on every story about them, then coming back here and banging on about it in a thread of which there have been thousands since the day they met. You detractors are feeding into this, so don't moan that you wish there wasn't stories about them and they should go away.

“You detractors” and in bold too. Fighting talk 😆

But here you are commenting on one. And just because you have an opinion on them does
not make one obsessive.

Edited

Well I'm not the one wanting them to 'go away' even though I know full well(as does everyone who does) that my commenting is the thing that means they won't ' go away'. Because I don't go searching for stories about them to be offended by, so I only hear of them when the obsessives start threads outside the Royal Family part of Mumsnet and Mail online they don't bother me. I would say hundreds of threads on the RF board is ' obsessive'.

H&M pay their PR a lot of money to get the press to publish everything they do.

And I repeat you are still here and you’ve also paid enough attention to allegedly how many posts there are about them so you are also feeding into it. There are also hundreds of posts about partners/ husbands/wives cheating so are they obsessive? My advice is if you don’t want to see it or read or indulge it in any way is to avoid it altogether and don’t engage. We all have agency here.

adragoncalledaudrey · 23/08/2026 12:42

‘You detractors’?

Are those the ones that aren’t blindly following anything that is briefed out to the press and are actually questioning why once again it is all going a bit omnishambles?

The press don't have to publish though. They do it because it generates so much traffic.

It does generates some traffic but somehow H&M seem to struggle to turn that into income for themselves despite their efforts.

Messedupmyusernameagain · 23/08/2026 12:51

presumably because the people generating the traffic ( and it's not some traffic- it's enormous, and is funding a huge cottage industry amongst any old washed up Royal adjacent person) are their detractors and not the tiny group of ' fans' or the people who are mildly interested when they come up.

You prefer to hang around people who take others to court with no evidence, causing them to incur huge costs defending themselves?

You would love the American in Stornaway who has nearly bankrupted a small cafe that she is suing for not letting her take her dog (not a guide dog) into - after almost bankrupting another small charity she sued by mistake forcing them to run up thousand in legal fees. Those are the sort of people who prefer to hang out with?

They don’t want to go away. They want to make money and Meghan wants fame and fortune, which to be fair she has always wanted. And she had a successful career before Harry. They want the attention but on their terms. They want to control the coverage they get. Unfortunately for them we still have a free press. However, people tend to confuse the press, which is quite tightly regulated, with social media, which isn’t. They thought they could control their coverage by snubbing outlets they don’t like and favouring the ones sympathetic to them. That also didn’t work.

Discussing their behaviour is not being a detractor it’s called being honest

Well she didn’t comment or appear at all while in the UK, and save for a few holidays snaps on her Instagram page (which is her right and is under her control) Meghan didn’t appear to court publicity at all.

By all accounts she has an acting job in the UK, or was trying out for one, because they have to earn their own money. And her dc are now of the age to start being educated in Britain.

All perfectly legitimate and non controversial as far as I am concerned and yet the level of opprobrium is sky high! They can’t win!

Oh and they announce their visit at the last minute so it doesn’t get entirely trashed by the UK media in advance, and then they are criticised for that too.

“Well she didn’t comment or appear at all while in the UK”

And ruin the surprise for any upcoming documentary?

Or being flat out ashamed at her husband spaffing a load of family money on an ill-advised court case?

Or having to face the people she and that fox accused of being racist?

I’d be mute too if that was me.

As for the acting job? It’ll be like the Dior gig.

Have you got access to their bank accounts? Otherwise how do you know this?

Also, should I be calling Kate... Middleton? After all, you call Meghan... Markle?

The Princess of Wales has never been called Kate - her family and William have always called her Catherine.
The bank accounts? The wills are commonly available.
Markle does not deserve any respect - most people refer to her as a 'yacht girl'

William called Kate, Kate, multiple times during their engagement interview with Tom Bradby. Nine times I believe.

Now... he might've changed to Catherine after their wedding or whenever but you are incorrect saying she has never been called Kate. All her Uni friends called her Kate also.

Who are 'most people'? I have never heard Meghan referred to as a yacht girl. Except by you, now.

Do some homework

DraigCymraeg · 23/08/2026 18:27

Do some homework

Given we have already established that the number of times William has referred to his wife as Kate is more than zero, how do you think more homework will change that?

Bigcat25 · 23/08/2026 18:33

VestibuleWeaver · 21/08/2026 15:47

You’re criticising him for balding? Pathetic.

Fair, but he had criticized his brother for same, dispute already balding himself.

simpsonthecat · 23/08/2026 18:35

What?

It's like disagreeing with people who think the earth is flat! Do you want me to link a transcript of the engagement interview? I can do if it helps. William calls her Kate throughout it. I haven't counted but it is about 9 times.

How strange to dispute it when there is a transcript of it.

Another insult

simpsonthecat · 23/08/2026 18:55

What insult? Posters are arguing with something that is 100% provable.

It's like someone who is saying the earth is flat when it is proven that is not the case. Or the sky is green when we know it is blue.

I am happy to acknowledge we all have different opinions, but when someone insists on something that is absolutely incorrect, I will point it out. And as I said I can link proof if needed.
