I dont need to hear what opening and closing your cupboards sounds like in HD! I dont need to hear you crunch your crisps! 😩😩

OP you should have put light-hearted in brackets in your title …. Fuck sake MN is nuts sometimes.

I’m pretty sure @hotmumshitknows it won’t be banned! But she’d like it banned!! And so would I!!

Along with selfish prats who don’t use earphones when listening to shit on their phones.

But ain’t ever gonna happen!

And as for being appalled at some of the other posters content viewing! Who knew? People have different tastes!

Mongo is appalled!

What kind of things would it consist of? Genuine question as I can't think of anything I'd put in my house specifically for autumn, apart from perhaps some shiny conkers which I'd put on the compost heap when they got dull. Is autumn stuff different from Halloween stuff?

Still can't imagine why anyone wants to look at someone else's purchases though. Do you ask to see your family and friends unpacking their shopping?

Well

I am thinking of an autumn wreath and door surroung of faux flowers in autumnal colours

And then housewares - so cushions, throws, new lamps

I also love a food shop haul - people unloading their asda deliveries, like to have a little nose 🤷‍♀️

Photo of the official definition

Its basically those videos where the sound of normal stuff is made very loud

Like opening and closing a door/eating/tapping your tesco clubcard

Yesterday I heard two women singing a country & western song. C&W is one of my least favourite genres (the other's thrash metal) - only heard the song because it was part of a cheesy TV programme I was watching.

It made my skin tingle. It was a massive response, almost whole body, and seemed to extend right inside. Amazing, and it made me think of this thread!

No idea whether ASMR is generally associated with sounds we normally find irritating ... 😏

This is a point to be fair

Maybe i do find other people's existence in my space annoying - so thats then transpired here where I want to see one thing, but the background noise is irritating 🤔🤔

Do you buy new cushions, throws and lamps every year!?

As for autumn wreaths with fake flowers, in my opinion they look dreadful, the only acceptable door wreaths are Christmas ones made with real foliage, berries etc.

I think you would probably hate my house, lots of mid century furniture( genuine, from that time), many of my lamps are over 30 years old, cushions 20 something. I do sometimes need to buy new things but my way of thinking is to buy high quality which is usually expensive so it lasts for years and decades.

But I wouldn't be remotely interested in watching someone else unpack things I liked.

This is definitely a case of it takes all sorts. I don't know anyone that changes their decor in autumn, spring etc.

Youre missing out, mooching around Home Bargains in September is so fun 🍂

I watched a woman give a pretend asmr medical examination to her cat yesterday. Was it weird? A bit. Was I wasting my time? Probably. Still watched it for half an hour though 😸

I often watch vids with the sound off. The visual content may be interesting, but the voiceovers with amateur umming, vocal twitching, faux chumminess/excitement are just an irritation. And the mood music!

Video, the Latin verb form of ‘I see’.

Sorry,what's ASMR?

Tapping, whispering, very quiet sounds.
Some people do genuinely seem to love it.
But for a significant percentage its w@nk fodder for men.

I like the make up ones too. My fave is realpersonasmrbyaugust

She's fab isn't she! She has the perfect voice for it too and is one of the very few that I don't mute.

If there was a cat involved, it can’t really be said to have been a waste of time, can it?
