It’s amazing how often the conversation about “the boats” completely ignores Britain’s own history. Britain spent centuries travelling across the world, colonising countries, controlling their people and extracting their resources. We created political, economic and cultural connections with huge parts of the world that still exist today.
Then look at Windrush. People from the Caribbean came to the so-called mother country, many as British subjects, and helped rebuild post-war Britain. They worked in our NHS, transport system and industries, only to face horrendous racism and discrimination. Decades later, some were even wrongly treated as illegal immigrants, detained and removed from the very country they had every right to call home.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't control our borders or deal with dangerous Channel crossings. We absolutely should. But this idea that Britain has always existed as some isolated little island that the rest of the world suddenly decided to descend upon is historically ridiculous.
For centuries Britain went out into the world. Now people act completely bewildered that some of the world comes to Britain. And as for the suggestion elsewhere on this thread that these men are coming because they want British womene bodies talk about flattering yourselves.
