Bum out in Aldi

Ohgiveoverwillyou · 11/08/2026 16:21

Just out shopping in Aldi today and a woman (older) and husband shopping, she had her bikini bottoms on and a sort of short cover up
top (not covering her bum)
Aibu to not really want to be near this whilst reaching for my cheese?

ahh and a little soupçon of ageism for good measure
fair play op
fair play

Yes, covered all bases (slight pun intended).

SleepingStandingUp · 11/08/2026 19:26

You don't want to be near people's dressed bottoms? , was she sitting on your cheese??

As I said above, people would say I was jealous if it was a younger woman in a thong, I wouldn’t be, just think anyone doing it is a bit 😬

But that presumes we dotn think you're even OLDER or just jealous you don't have the same body confidence

MandemChickenShop · 11/08/2026 19:29

Aldi, always good a nice peach

PeasOff · 11/08/2026 19:34

You need to learn how to turn the other cheek OP.

Least it wasn't Waitrose is suppose
ah well we can talk about arse cheeks out at Aldi instead
🙄

That was my first thought too (wouldn't get that in Waitrose).

darkoftheloon · 11/08/2026 19:46

Why would anyone walk around with their arse out? I just don't get it.

Me neither!

Maybe i’m just a massive prude (but don’t think I am?)
I would just feel really uncomfortable walking around a supermarket in my pants

So many arseholes on display today!

DorsetMermaid · 11/08/2026 19:55

Somehow the context of this thread makes 'reaching for my cheese' sound utterly filthy.

Chill out. An Aldi near the beach is fair game. We often pop in on our way home from a sea swim with just a towel poncho over our wet togs (we sit on ‘bags for life’ in the car if I forget the extra towels.) Sometimes we go to the M&S food hall. But Waitrose is not enroute sadly.

I saw a man with a snake round his neck in Waitrose. But he did have his trousers on 😀

If you are covered in sand, with your buttocks hanging out, that’s just not hygienic. Sorry, but can’t you slip a pair of shorts on?

MaggieBsBoat · 11/08/2026 20:13

I don’t mind bums as a rule. Topless men though? Bleurgh.

That said everyone should have a right to not see naked bums in the cheese aisle. Therefore YANBU

But is it a long ish poncho? Does it cover your arse? This was a short beach top 🤷🏻‍♀️and pants, bit like Donald Duck except with some pants at least

Aldi do a fine line in buns in my experience.

I think you will find they are huge in Aldi.

Were they red trousers? I bet they were fucking red trousers.

canuckup · 11/08/2026 20:45

Well Aldi is at the bottom of the pack let's face it

canuckup · 11/08/2026 20:46

'wet togs'

We have one of those amongst us, people

Waitrose wang out Wednesday tomorrow?

Mrstawnyowl · 11/08/2026 21:08

Don’t worry about people making an arse of themselves, we all have one after all. 😂

BCBird · 11/08/2026 21:12

CaringCucumber · 11/08/2026 16:41

Cheek of her

This made me laugh. I.do think it's out of order to dress like that.

nopiesleftinthisvehicle · 11/08/2026 22:15

Ugh! Am not a fan even on holiday when tourists trudge into the little family-run mini markets in their flip flops & speedos and sweat all over the fridges 🤢

Dilemma999 · 11/08/2026 22:20

It’s the fashion at the moment. Very teeny shorts that only cover half of your bum cheeks. Not very flattering for most and definitely look uncomfortable.

Newmeagain · 11/08/2026 22:27

This is why some places - particularly near the coast - have express rules about this kind of thing. Otherwise you would have people sitting in a restaurant in their bikinis.
