To think Count Binface is doing a great job in the Clacton by-election?

Count down to Bin Day!

Count Binface has been out bigging-up Clacton and drawing attention to its potential.

It’s a really positive campaign.

I don’t think he’ll win but I’d love it if he did. I think he’d be brilliant.

And if he doesn’t, I think other candidates could learn a lot from his approach.

I love it that they have supporters while other parties have ‘activists’.

Apologies for quoting myself.

Activists aren’t really an “Establishment” thing, are they?

I love it that they have supporters while other parties have ‘activists’.

The absolute cheek of them, when they basically had a 3 line whip to get all their people to Clacton to aid Farage, abandoning the Manchester Mayoral campaign.

I reckon some of them were the guests at that dreary looking 'Festival'. The Press seemed as surprised by it as the rest of us, so I doubt it was well publicised.

Darker · 17/08/2026 11:52

I am convinced the festival was laid on specifically to incentivise the loyal door-knockers to spend their free time in Clacton, rounding up the vote.

Farage’s lack of grace and manners at the count confirms my fears of the kind of PM he would make if Reform were to win the next GE. An angry man who has the ability to campaign but fails dismally at diplomacy.

Reform spreading misinformation about Count Binface.

It would be helpful to know where that quote came from if we are to judge it's veracity.

Attending the "count" is an invitation not a legal summons.

And I think we would all be angry if we were subjects to a plethora of death threats on a regular basis.

It came from Count Binface on X. I don’t use X but saw it quoted elsewhere.

Nadhim Zahawi, a prominent Reform supporter. It says so in the post.

So has he been challenged on it and has that been reported?

If not we can only assume that it's true.

Someone else says it was Nadhim Zahawi, so it seems no-one is too sure.

It is convention, and good manners, to turn up and thank the Returning Officer and everyone who has run the election and counted up the votes. More so in this case, the election he triggered.

It’s also important to acknowledge the other candidates and those who voted in the election. As he won the election, he will be representing everyone in the constituency. Not just the people who voted for him.

If he’s worried about death threats he could have given a televised briefing that morning to give these messages. But he didn’t. He cancelled the one that was scheduled.

He goes on about British values, what we fought for in the war etc but he is showing his cards here.

Yes he has been challenged and it’s not true. Why don’t you just read the thread then you wouldn’t have to keep asking questions that have already been answered.

It wasn't proved either way.

One person made an allegation, another denied it.
Stalemate - well, those of us who bother to read.🙂

I've had a nice message from MNHQ. They like the idea of a Q&A with Count Binface and are going to talk to the Press office.

PerkingFaintly · 17/08/2026 13:21

That'll be fun.Grin

BIossomtoes · 17/08/2026 13:25

Brilliant. Thank you @Uricon2.

No it isn’t stalemate @MyKittyKatty. I remember the £180k day offer being made before the by-election and Binface turning it down. Zahawi was lying and his lie was exposed. Some of us have longer memories than others.

Now that will be interesting.

I'm very keen on the idea of the price of a 99 being capped at 99p and I am curious to know how that will be funded.
If it means me paying more taxes then I'll opt to keep the taxes and buy my own 99s

Darker · 17/08/2026 13:27

Where is the evidence that Count Binface accepted money from Dale, or that he asked other parties to campaign for him?

He is a satirist. His comedy, and commentary, fails if he doesn’t have freedom to criticise any party or politician.

I am sure @MyKittyKatty will provide it soon.
