Count Binface has been out bigging-up Clacton and drawing attention to its potential.

It’s a really positive campaign.

I don’t think he’ll win but I’d love it if he did. I think he’d be brilliant.

And if he doesn’t, I think other candidates could learn a lot from his approach.

Oh you mean the police protection vehicle? Mr Khan has asked the Met to reconsider using that since it doesn't tie in with his criticism of other large and SUV vehicles.

Senior politicians in the UK have the security they need but Mr Farage didn't want the security, he wanted the money. Hence telling the crap toe billionaire that in order to be an MP he'd need a million a year. And as if by magic...

Khan trusts the police to protect him. Farage had made up a threat which Essex police says didn’t exist. They’re hardly comparable.

When Farage's house was fire-bombed the police really didn't take it seriously. They only stepped up enquiries after poor Ann Widdicombe was murdered.

He didn't want the fully funded security offered after a risk assessment had taken place because he didn't think it was good enough for him (and nor was the security provided to him by Reform plc, financed by who knows who) so he needed a bung of five million quid instead.

The ‘mob’ were 15 minutes away from where the count was taking place. That’s far enough away to convince me they were not disrupting proceedings.

His house wasn’t fire-bombed. Nor was there any threat to him at the result declaration. He just wanted to avoid the embarrassment of being photographed with Binface, and loves to portray himself as a victim at every opportunity, like all adherents of identity politics.

I’d suggest that ‘fire bomb’ was something of an exaggeration. Obviously his security should and has been taken seriously in terms of protections he has been offered. Why he has refused to accept it is a mystery.

To compare the brutal murder of Anne Widdecombe to what Nigel Farage alleges was stuck through his letter box is a bit sick really.

Watching that video of Farage Fest (upthread) makes me think that the decision not to attend the count was entirely pre-meditated.

A huge amount of money was thrown into celebrations with the campaigners, including yurts for people staying overnight. I.e. people shipped in to get the voters to the polls.

Was there anything for the actual constituents of Clacton?

Farage staying may have achieved the effect of making the campaigners feel special while citing a security threat makes it all feel a bit edgy. If free beer, ferris wheels and giant jenga can be edgy.

Tice fell into a hole when interviewed, saying that Farage’s security hadn’t actually shared details of the threat with the police.

It’s all a huge performance.

If any other political party leader had skipped their count for some prearranged celebration of self among their 'faithful', the roars of outrage from Reform would be heard on Sigma IX.

You forgot to answer my questions. Where did Mr Farage stay while his fire bombed house was rebuilt, and were any of his neighbours" houses damaged?A fire bomb would surely cause structural problems to neighbouring properties. I'm amazed this didn't receive widespread news coverage - he was clearly lucky to escape with his life.
