‘Thigh gap’

Bit random but do the youth of today still obsess about weight and having the much sought after ‘thigh gap’ ???

I hope not as it’s caused me a lifetime of troubled eating. I was born in the 80’s and teen in the 90’s

I understand that “hip dips” are now cause for concern, after listening to some much younger friends. I googled this new (to me) phenomenon and I’m not that much wiser.

Same! I couldn’t work out if I had the desired or is it undesired hip dips

The diamond shape.

I'm lucky not to have ever been bothered by it, or a big bum.
Was only ever interested in having dimples and would sit through class drilling my cheek with my finger 🤣.

No, it’s the other one.

If you google “thigh gap” you get lots of pictures of thighs that don’t touch and no diamond shapes.

Aren’t “hip dips” supposed to be the result of the pursuit of the “huge glutes” that have been the must have for the last few years.

I have a wide pelvis so even at my heaviest my thighs struggle to touch. I was totally unaware of “chub rub”, it was quite a revelation that a whole industry has grown around them. Even the sweaty boob problem has passed me by since my ample boobs have not sagged.

I do not have a perfect figure by any means, my problem area is my c section overhang but since I’m of an age where no woman should subject the public to vast areas of crepey slightly saggy skin it is easier to deal with.

I also missed out on the big lips craze. I had very plump lips in my youth but they were hugely unpopular and we often used makeup to make them look thinner😂.

I would definitely have been a “Beauty” in the 18th century when buxom was fashionable.

Just googled “hip dips”, it’s OK you can have plastic surgery to get rid of them. Part of me suspects that many of these minor ( natural anatomical) flaws are an invention of the cosmetic industry created to encourage cash flow.

Strong thighs support you and store fat.
I've been just underweight, active and didn't have a thigh gap as I don't have any hips. Only had a thigh gap after a God awful stomach bug when travelling and went down to 7.6 stone. The rest of me was tiddly.

Even as a 7 stone teen I didn't have a thigh gap and wore through the inner thighs of my jeans. As a 9 1/2 stone middle aged women I still have both chub rub and prominent collar bones.

PP is bang on the money about these things being made an issue of to generate £££££ for cosmetic surgeons. This is quite revolting in the deliberately mixed message that it gives.

Isn't a thigh gap mainly attainable by trans women who tuck?

Odd opinion.

Plenty of women on this thread have said they have a thigh gap.

Trans women would presumably have narrower hips, and thigh bones which are closer together (because they are male), making a thigh gap much much less likely.

I have bow legs and despite having large thighs they don’t meet (I had to look - hadn’t considered that’s why I don’t need chub run shorts. Now I know!
