Not sure what to think of this photo caption

A male colleague has posted a photo of his wife and their 4 young kids (all under 8 or so) he's put '4 kids, and she's still got a great figure!' Maybe I'm reading into too much but I find it a bit off?

Almost implying most women would look like trash after 4 kids?

Maybe he feels she still has a great figure after 4 kids so he’s speaking factually.
Not something I’ll appreciate and not something my husband will ever do but they know each other better and I guess if she’s not happy, she’ll tell him.

To me it implies that producing children and her body are the only things he values her for.

He’s gushing about the woman he’s married to and the mother of his 4 kids as he thinks she’s gorgeous. Good for them.

It implies no such thing.

She's being complimented for her looks, it's reductive and insulting but that's what humans do. God forbid she put weight on.

He adores his wife and still fancies her.

No reason for anyone to be outraged at this at all.

I think the specificity of the "great figure" is what's a bit jarring, I think saying "still gorgeous" or "still beautiful" would have been sweet but referring directly to weight is a bit off. However, it might be something she is self conscious about and he is trying to give her a boost!

I think his comment is grim and he should be proud of his wife however she looks. I wouldn't read it as a comment on other women though.

I’d find that weird. If that was my partner I’d ask him why he’s put that. It’s unnecessary and would make me uncomfortable. Maybe a post about him saying he’s 45 and still got most of his hair.
