youngsters I follow either colleagues or hairdressers/ kids of friends in their 20s, et cetera on Instagram
you check in and they've posted some bollocks about anxiety/ deep connections/Poisoning our bodies/loving full lives
is it part of being young and is it that we would have done the same in the 80s and 90s but couldn't ?
who produces all this hammy shit?

I work with lots of mid 20s, educated seemingly intelligent colleagues and the stuff they come out with sometimes makes me laugh. One over confident young man likes to give out life advice, he was trying to give me some about menopause based on his extensive knowledge of his mum being my age-ish.
One of the few times I have actually told someone in work to be quiet and stop talking!

Just because MNHQ let them stand doesn't mean that the people who start them don't get a bad time. Any mention of 'boomers' sends people into an utter tailspin, yet those same people happily drag ' Gen Z'.

Are we talking "live love laugh" level stuff, or something more personal? The chronically online 18-24 yos I know are mainly posting stuff like "look at this little cutie purse I got at the thrift - I'm obsessed with it!" or "which Sol de Janeiro scents does a vanilla girlie NEED?" so dealing with anxiety, making deep connections, and nor poisoning one's body would probably be a step up. Not sure about loving full lives, but I don't think most people prefer empty lives.

I mean, I'm neither an old dear nor a young flibbertigibbet. I'm 43. I just have noticed that people on this site have a lot to say about young people, but if anyone says anything about anyone over 50, hell mend you.

Back in the late 90s/ early 2000s I worked for a small tech company. The MD ( who wasn't a techy) used to love all that sort of shite and at one point framed a series of posters bearing these sort of "inspirational messages" and had them hung up the stairs and along the corridors. Most of the staff thought it embarrassing bilge and laughed about it behind his back.

I guess he would probably be in his late 50s / early 60s now.
