Honestly, so disappointed.
Tresemme was great value for money. I accepted when the 800ml bottles sneakily changed to 680 or whatever the volume of ozempic tresemme became. It was still okay - most supermarkets kept the offer price at £3.50, it smells nice, lasted a long time, I don’t need anything salon quality it did the job.
New bottles are 500 or so ml, look awful and no longer on offer, the price is easily hitting the £5 mark.

AIBU to be fed up of everything getting smaller and prices going up?

And yes, I understand companies can do what they want, I know prices go up. But what a sad little life for us consumers.

It's surprising (or perhaps not) how many bottles like this are really difficult to use. I decant my shampoo and conditioner into travel bottles, even when at home because I was sick of struggling with the bottles with wet hands in the shower.

But it's not that surprising that the price has gone up. 800 ml of shampoo must last forever and if you're only paying £3.50 for it, your shampoo spend will be tiny so likely not profitable for them.

This is not how product profitability works. You can make a profit off even a low priced item if it costs pennies to make & transport.

Would also suggest trying the Aldi & Lidl dupes.

Aldi (not sure about Lidl) also does an Aussie dupe which I use.

Do those people who recommend Aussie not struggle to get the shampoo out of the bottle? After a couple of uses I have to upend the bottles to get anything out.

What I meant was that if you sell someone a massive bottle of shampoo for £3.50, they don't spend much on shampoo. That amount would last me months, as an aside, I have no idea what the poster who says 'I make the 900 ml bottle last a whole month' is doing with it, drinking it?

Say I buy 2 bottles a year, that's £7 a year on shampoo, which is hardly anything. If the price changes to £5 for 500 ml, the same amount of shampoo costs about £18, so the amount I give them per year has more than doubled, with minimal changes in costs - plastic bottles, ingredients, production costs and transport will be pennies per item either way.

Any recommendations for a shampoo for vivid hair? Couldn’t get on with tresseme at all and currently alternate between Aussie colour shampoo and bed head colour shampoo.

I struggle with a lot of shampoo bottles to the extent that I decant into squeezy travel bottles (from Superdrug) for home use as well as travelling. Also means you don't potentially suffer the pain after dropping a big bottle of shampoo on your foot in the shower that a few posters have mentioned.

I store the original bottles upside down in a basket in the bathroom cupboard and then when the small bottles are nearly empty, refill them but it still can take a bit of 'shaking down' to get the second half of the shampoo out of the bottle. I have a personal bugbear with packaging that seems to be designed to make the user waste a significant portion of the product and am determined to beat manufacturers at this game.

Tresemme is cheap crap full of strong alkaline detergents, like all the other supermarket shampoos. I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole.
