What's something that men think is impressive, but really isn't?

Beep beep, come on traffic

Speaking of traffic, mine is when men (or boys, rather) rev their bloody engines on their cars that sound like they're about to explode. No, please, don't speed off, open the boot to your clapped out Corsa, I want to get in.

Also since going back to the gym, forgot how awful the men are there for showing off. There's this one in particular at my gym and idk if he's just mentally deranged or what but anytime he does any exercise he roars like a buffoon and I feel my vagina drying up a little more each time. It is so unnecessary. He will be easing his way through bicep curls, pretty much screaming and grunting for each one. Also has a horrifically embarassing habit of punching his chest, twice, every so often.

Give me your opinions and stories; what is something that men do that they think is impressive, but really, really isn't...

make my Saturday evening ✨

but why "men"?

One man they know possibly, but it's not something that MEN do and WOMEN don't?

A lot of the comments describe some weird unpleasant guy someone knows, doesn't apply to any of the men I know.

If you say "sending a dick pic" , then yes, that's a man thing! And no, it's not impressive.

Loads of men are obsessed with their Strava stats

It used to be the norm to wear normal clothes on a bike ride.

It still is in places like the Netherlands

Ah, 80 km cycle ride in jeans and you'll struggle to have sex for a few days (if you're a woman) 😂

Expensive cars

Being an 'influencer'

Having big muscles is impressive in one sense, like the dedication and effort but it's not at all attractive to most women as I think most women would see it as indicating vanity and meaning a bloke will spend all his time in the gym and not have other hobbies. Not necessarily true, but that's the impression it gives.

This really is how I feel about them hahaha like it just gives off "i think im a god" and you just know that really is what they think.

Male influencers = vomit

Who the hell is still showing off about having HD TV?! That must be unique to one solitary male, surely. I can't imagine what my face would do if a man pointed out his telly was HD 😄

My reaction would actually just be this

What's something that men think is impressive, but really isn't?

Ew wtf kind of women are these who praise their sons for ejaculating. As if she still thinks of him as a proper man for failing to be a father. The mind boggles

I read this - notably the first sentence - without having seen the post it referenced and thought the thread had taken an unexpected turn…

I mean yeah true, I should have specified it can be specific instances of things any man does, not all men. Just a fun thread, that's all :) yeah I have profound hatred for dick pics. I don't know any woman irl who enjoys them and have a whole thread about how awful they are hahaha

I did have a good laugh recently with DH abd his motorbike. I was following him to the garage so he could drop it off for its MOT... and the worksvan next to him at the traffic lights actually wound their window to ask him about the bike.

So maybe motorbikes are attractive to other men. (The bike gets a bit of attention. Its on its last legs but apparently very cool. DH isnt cool.)

Awww "DH isn't cool" lmao bless him. I do find motorbikes cool! I like cars too, but something about motorbikes is just extra sexy

My ex from university thought he was really sophisticated because he put red wine into bolognaise sauce.

Wow, he sounds so elegant and proper. I can only assume he's a member of the Royal family

I think you're very much in the minority. Most women go weak at the knees at the sight of a tall bloke.

Tall people scare me

Their fucking opinions.

Also they think women are hopeless. I was once reverse parking (doing it fine) when some twat banged on the boot of my car and started guiding me into the space with overbuy dramatic arm gestures. I ignored him as I was doing fine. He then gave me a thumbs up and I put the window down and asked what the fuck he was doing. He said ‘helping you get into the space!’ I asked why as I was doing fine and didn’t need his help. He hit attendant said ‘well yeah you get a bus in there! I said ‘exactly so I didn’t need your help at all!’ Prick

So disrespectful to the potato headed community.

Crying at this with your name especially hahahahah

Oh yes.
That's not just unimpressive, but a turn-off.
Like f* do you care about this, Nigel.
I put it down to them thinking that if they act like us we'll fancy them.
Wrong!

Nothing turns me off more than a man bellowing onto me that he is a feminist.

Equally, if he isn't a feminist, I hate him
