Count Binface has a genuine chance against Nigel Farage!

Sounds crazy but…

None of the major parties are competing…

Farage won Clacton with 46% of the vote…

If the 54% united together to vote for Binface, we could have the most preposterous election outcome of all time!

I reckon this could get some genuine momentum… all the other parties would LOVE this result, and even if they didn’t actively campaign for it, would surely quietly be gunning for Binface to win.

I have just heard on Sky news that Laurence Fox has decided to stand...
Just when you thought it could not be any madder.
Farage.
Binface.
And Fox.

Honest to god.

I imagine Fox will lose his deposit.

I live in Clacton and it's an incredibly sad state of affairs I have to either vote for a racist misogynistic lying prick or a joke candidate. My town is falling apart, anti social behaviour is high, unemployment is through the roof, health and life expectancy is falling. Trying to sell and move but houses aren't selling. Reform can F.O.

Do you think many people will vote for Count Binface as a protest vote?

Maybe CB might do a better job?

In a normal election Fox would lose his deposit. In a normal election Binface loses his deposit doesn't he?
In this one? Anything could happen. 😂

noblegiraffe · Yesterday 22:54

I don't think Binface will actually get people out to vote tbh. He's said he's not going to go out canvassing or anything and he really is just a joke candidate.

TheScreensNurseTheScreens · Yesterday 22:58

maybe not, but he’s on TV again - Newsnight no less.

But he doesn’t need to inspire and nobody’s expecting a sensible manifesto. He just has to be the recipient of anti-Farage votes and thumbing-their-nose voters. It’s what he isn’t that will attract votes, not what he is.

TBH he’ll do better by not campaigning. People might find that wearisome after a while.

ValueofNothing · Yesterday 23:05

If Laurence Fox stands it might split the racist vote.

Darker · Yesterday 23:05

Count Binface is getting excellent media coverage, and will have plenty of on-the-ground support from people who want Farage out. I don’t think he needs to go door to door for every vote.

The idea that he will be a passive recipient of votes assumes that those voters get off their arses and vote.

Elections generally have a lot of volunteers whose job it is to 'get out the vote'.

Is voting for a joke candidate because it would be funny if the serious candidate lost enough of a motivator?

AndyBurkhamstocks · Yesterday 23:09

Count Binface is a very intelligent receptacle.

Not in itself. But it will be for some.

As for the positive anti-Farage vote, would you vote if you lived in Clacton? I’m guessing the answer’s ‘yes’ and it would be for Binface.

Oh dear following on from the earlier "fascist " comment, the bollocks buzzword bingo continues with calling anyone who is to the political right a "racist".

It's really getting tiresome and predictably the response just for flagging this will be "then you must also be a racist or racist sympathiser".

Now if someone can use the word "Nazi" in an accusatory post then I can call "House" on bollocks buzzword bingo.

But I'm not the general demographic of people who live in Clacton.

People are a product of their experiences, environment, culture, education, opportunities, community and society. All things that can be influenced. An MP has the chance to support the infrastructure that would influence the things that impact who, why and what 'people are'

People still have choices. I went to secondary school in newham and also worked for the council there. As well as having spent a couple of years in their care system.

I don't find it an excuse to behave like a scumbag.

Don't racists get a vote?

They not an alien species. 54% of the turnout didn’t want Farage two years ago and I suspect that percentage has increased. The prospect of voting for Binface may increase turnout. He certainly seems to have caught the public imagination.

Voters also have to get off their arse to vote for Farage too.

I don’t think it’s necessarily the case that there will be more enthusiasm across Clacton to vote for Farage than there will be to vote for Binface, on the contrary.

William Hills have Bin Face at 7/2. That is a realistic chance. Bin Face V Frog Face. The honour of this country is a stake. xx

I really don’t know enough to assess how motivated the people of Clacton are to vote for which candidate… but I don’t see why some posters necessarily assume that motivation to vote is stronger in would-be Reform voters.

Would I vote for Binface if I lived in Clacton? Probably yes. But that doesn't mean the people of Clacton will vote for Binface.

I'd have voted Binface in Makerfield and he got 95 votes... my vote for Binface is not something that can be extrapolated to a general population!

If it walks like a racist, talks like a racist and quacks like a racist; it probably is a racist.

And if it creeps up behind Jewish kids at school and makes hissing noises to imitate gas chambers, and burns the school roll because it has more Patels than Smiths on it...there shouldn't even be a debate over whether it's racist.
