We’re going on holiday in 8 weeks’ time and, for reasons I won’t bore you with, have had to leave it quite late to book. We’ve now settled on an itinerary and I’ve found the most amazing accommodation in one of the Nordic destinations we’re visiting. It’s exactly what I need at the moment- an adults-only luxurious villa on a lake with private sauna, veranda, and lots of opportunities to relax. It’s part of a resort so loads of facilities and activities. Food looks great.
I was all set to book and did another trawl through TripAdvisor and came across this picture from a 3-year old review
Now, I’m not the biggest fan of mice indoors but I’m not afraid of them and, realistically speaking, lots of hotels probably have mice but we don’t see them, but a mouse in a hallway or behind the bins is different to one on an actual bed. The review is from 3 years ago and all of the review since rate hygiene highly and there’s no mention of anything else like this.
I’m now thinking of not booking. However, I can’t see any other accommodation options that tick as many boxes for us.
DH is of the view that, while it’s not something we’d like to encounter, a mouse going indoors in a forest setting isn’t out of the ordinary and it seems to be isolated to one review from three years ago.
