Surely this is going too far. I wouldn’t agree with it if it was the final.

I'm actually of Irish descent but I support England.

Smeuse · 05/07/2026 11:32

Is this irony?

If not
Do you think many right wingers are celebrating the diversity of the England squad?

Yes absolutely.
What a ridiculous comment.

Smeuse · 05/07/2026 12:14

One person does not reflect the whole 'MC Lefties' 😂

As do minority idiots not represent the right. Yet the right always manage to get shoe horned into everything.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 05/07/2026 12:16

Haha! She actually lives on a council estate in a former council flat in South East London full of white working class people who've decked the whole estate out with England flags!

How wonderful - good for those supporters.
Your friend probably doesn’t need to live in subsidised housing,if she can holiday for a month. What an absolute fun sponge.
Does she know about all the patriotism in Italy?
They went mental when they didn’t get in the World Cup. Or will she turn a blind eye to that whilst sipping her cocktails and eyeing up those Italian Stallions in the budgie smugglers?

YourAmplePlumPoster · 05/07/2026 12:51

Yeah. England fans are hateful racists especially for supporting their national team. Something which is normal in every other European country.

Blackcatahotcat · 05/07/2026 13:00

YourAmplePlumPoster · 05/07/2026 12:01

Nope. A leftie friend of mine has actually gone away to Italy for a whole month as the thought of England flags and support for the team says it makes her feel nauseous.

That’s a bit of an extreme overreaction. She probably just doesn’t like football, although where she’ll escape the World Cup I’ve no idea.

Smeuse · 05/07/2026 13:08

Yeah. England fans are hateful racists especially for supporting their national team. Something which is normal in every other European country.

Where has anyone said that?

The majority of England fans are not racist but there are racist England fans, plenty of evidence of that.

Zpacncmcnsna · 05/07/2026 13:30

Why is this turning into racism? There's nothing wrong with English flags

God forbid people support their national team.
We live in a very middle class village and we’ve got flags and bunting up - as do many houses locally.

Because it always does. Are French or Spanish fans called racist because they support their country's team? No. This is exclusively related to England fans

Nonsense.

Nobody has called England fans racist, you made that link after I asked you about your lefties comment.

You can't deny that black England players receive racial abuse from so called fans.

Same applies to Spain and French fans.

LuckyHazelFox · 05/07/2026 14:25

Tbf you're proving the pp's point about the left not just enjoying the country coming together.

And that racial abuse is wrong

Most of those racist comments come from overseas.
They even tracked some down after the Euros.

What have you to say about the goalkeeper from Paraguay calling the French team African?
Racism abroad is far worse than here.
We need to eradicate any form of racism or hatred, including those spouting unkindness towards those trying to have fun watching the football.
Hows that for a bag of apples? Be away and leave people alone.

They did indeed. We should be highlighting the positives of our squad's support not singling out the negatives. Anyway I'm looking forward to the match, win or lose. Come on our England 🇬🇬💪 boys

YourAmplePlumPoster · 05/07/2026 16:23

Nobody I know on the football circuit is racist. They just want the lads to score goals.

Well well well,

How this thread has changed. OP posted this thread.

Pubs open till 5am, children encouraged to miss school by the England manager.

We were intended to debate the pros and cons of this statement.

And now we are discussing, or should I say arguing racism.

No surprise. England supporters who put a flag up and back their team - hateful racists. Unlike Scottish, Spanish or French fans

YourAmplePlumPoster · 05/07/2026 17:44

Doesn't surprise me that the cat's bum pursed mouth head teachers are making this into an issue. In any other European country, everyone would be getting behind their team.

I won't say my job online, no. I'm not sure why you would need me to. I'm also not sure why you think its alright to talk to someone as rudely as you are. It isn't nice.

lovecotswoldsliving · Today 11:22
But you won’t say your job.
So be honest, you don’t really know teenagers that well …

The above quote by Supersleepysheepy was aimed at lovecotswoldsliving.

Surely when you post that because of your job you know the younger generation so well, and therefore rubbish lovecotswoldsliving point of view.
The obvious question one would then ask is.
Why?
What is your job that makes you such an expert?

I am posting this because I happen to agree with lovecotswoldsliving however,* *that does not make us right, or wrong, it's our p.o.v. and open to debate, or discussion.
But to back up your belief with an assumption that because of your job you obviously know better, but then refusing to disclose the very reason why you think you know better beggars belief.

Oh, and no, I do not know lovecotswoldsliving personally and until this thread had never seen, or heard of her, and probably never will. 😀

You are correct I won't say my job, I'm allowed to make my own comments without doing so, regardless as to whether you feel happy about that or not. I find it rather surprising that this 'beggars belief'.
