Surely this is going too far. I wouldn’t agree with it if it was the final.

I've only skimmed the thread, but what law will be broken if children without 100% attendance next week are not allowed to attend the end of year activities?

I don’t think many schools would do this?
Mind you not all students like the school trips, especially if they are going to a museum!

Zpacncmcnsna · Yesterday 22:28

If you purposely miss school should you be allowed to attend a school social event?

Zpacncmcnsna · Yesterday 22:31

I know at my dcs grammar those who took time off to constantly study at home were banned from leavers day events on the final day

One was quoted upthread, hence my question. What law would be broken?

In my school, trips and treats are linked to behaviour and attendance.

It’s a bloody game of football.
some people have taken leave of their senses.

YourAmplePlumPoster · Yesterday 23:27

The real reason is that middle class lefties can't stand the idea of people including children rallying around for an England identity and unity. That’s why they want to ban it.

brunettemic · Yesterday 23:31

My DD’s primary school have said as long as children are in for 10:30 it’s fine, nothing from DS’s high school and DH’s school same (he’s a teacher, I’m not married to a teenager!).
The approach of the primary school seems the most sensible to me, attendance is going to be poor but that will help. A lot of kids aren’t exactly doing anything important this time of year anyway.

At our school, you can’t rearrange all the buses at short notice. I guess it’s too complicated.
So easier to stick to normal opening.

How many is an awful lot?

Even teachers don't know more then a few hundred let alone a few thousand.

Saying, "given my job" is a complete cop out.
What job is it that makes you so certain?

I will say "given MY job" many parents do not take responsibility.

Whoops! Another copout. 😀

If you say so.

MinnieMountain · Today 07:30

DS's comprehensive school has sent an email pointing out that you can watch it on catch up. Everyone is expected in as normal.

Blackcatahotcat · Today 08:26

DS2 and his friends are in Mexico City and are going to try for tickets for the game. Don’t let the kids miss out! It’ll be a struggle but it’s a one-off x

But you won’t say your job.
So be honest, you don’t really know teenagers that well …

Is this irony?

If not
Do you think many right wingers are celebrating the diversity of the England squad?

Why shouldn't they be? Fans support foreign players' respective domestic teams.

Sorry, meant black players.

I won't say my job online, no. I'm not sure why you would need me to. I'm also not sure why you think its alright to talk to someone as rudely as you are. It isn't nice.

You must have seen the abuse aimed at black players?

I assume you don't agree 'mc lefties' comment made by the poster

Nope. A leftie friend of mine has actually gone away to Italy for a whole month as the thought of England flags and support for the team says it makes her feel nauseous.

All those players of colour say they're proud to be playing for England.

Yes and we've moved on from a minority of idiots shouting racist abuse.

Tell her to go into deep Italy. The mafia are rife.
She may as well stay there, if the England flag makes her sick. What a sad state of affairs.
Obviously another priveleged moaner able to bomb off for a month when it suits. Poor little darling.

Haha! She actually lives on a council estate in a former council flat in South East London full of white working class people who've decked the whole estate out with England flags!
