I was at Take That but London was heaving … check these numbers out..

Six massive headline concerts. One city.
🎤 Harry Styles — Wembley Stadium (~90,000)
🎤 Take That — London Stadium (~70,000-80,000)
🎤 Bad Bunny — Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (~60,000)
🎤 Garth Brooks — BST Hyde Park (~65,000)
🎤 Lily Allen — The O2 (~20,000)
🎤 Kneecap — Crystal Palace Park (~25,000)

That’s around 330,000 people at these six shows alone!

various music festivals going on up and down the country … if you can get out to Dublin or Manchester to see the lads! They were phenomenal! Seeing Harry next week!!

❤️ london!
The culture and the transport logistics to get everyone around is what makes it one of the best places on earth!

I was at TT last night and saw Harry last week. Also saw Boyzone this month. Amazing city I love living so close and working there. We’re bet lucky to have this on our doorstep

We went to a gig at Tottenham last year, left from Liverpool street and they had to hold us back from the tube/train for a while. Someone who I assumed was a local asked her friend what the hold up was for and she mentioned the gig.

What all this for a concert was her reply. I was surprised she was surprised at the amount of people as surely they have this fir the footie ?

tinyspiny · Yesterday 19:29

My sisters were at Take That on Friday night and Garth Brooks yesterday .. We do lots of concerts between us and my sister was less than impressed with the London Stadium . I was less than impressed with all the videos I got sent on both nights 🤣

Blueroses99 · Yesterday 19:36

I was at the State Fayre festival at Chelmsford, coming back to SW London and ran into people returning from these events. Very mixed crowd! And grateful for the extra late trains that seemed to be put on, despite the heatwave cancellations earlier in the week.

@FourEyesGoodhow big is it? About 5000? Can’t add to my list.

About 3500 - so not loads, but all lovely people 😁

Oh I went to Take That last night too! Was bloody brilliant but my gosh it was warm wasn’t it. I couldn’t get over how busy all the shops and restaurants were too.

Going to Harry Styles with my daughter next weekend too and then got a little gap before Ariana in August.

I really love live music and particularly love a massive stadium show with lights, dancers, fireworks etc. (oh and an elephant if you’re Take That!)

Yes very! My second time seeing them on this tour!! Very hot - the stadium is huge!

if anyone is a Lauryn Hill fan she’s in Milton Keynes on 7th Aug at MK Bowl. I’m heading to see her too.

I’m super excited about Harry and Wembley.

I did Coldplay last year and felt it was very organised at Wembley.

prices for hotels are ridiculous, it’s the same next weekend with Gay Pride, Hyde Park Concerts, Wimbledon, the Proms and Harry Styles.. I wish they would space events out more so not everything js crammed in to the same 2-3 week period every year.

meikyo · Yesterday 20:51

I went to London two weekends in a row recently. Saw my favourite band Sparks live at Chelsea on 12 June, then headed back to Scotland on the 13th to see Sparks at Kelvingrove Bandstand on the 14th, then back to London on the 19th for Gorillaz at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the 20th with Sparks as support, All absolutely brilliant,! Lucky to have family in London to stay with! London was very busy, saw lots of Harry Styles fans on the tube both weekends.

Anything at a football stadium has a really small window where the football is done and the pitch has time to recover before the next season starts.

Anything else outdoors needs to be between May and September for adequate weather.
It's not a large number of days to do everything that London wants to host.

Gazelda · Yesterday 21:12

I was at TT on Friday. It was an incredible atmosphere, even when we were all piling out - “I’ve had the time of my life” was playing and it felt as though the whole stadium was singing along as the walked towards the tube.

everyone was in great humour, the security staff were brilliant and the whole organisation was top notch.

the show was incredible, as fabulous as the previous Circus tour.

was at Les Mis at Royal Albert Hall the previous week and it was fab to see the Les Mis, Harry and Lola Young crowds all mingle yet dressed so identifiably for the show they were going to.

OP, you’re not wrong, London is an amazing city and I’m so lucky to live close by and have the ability to see some of these shows.

I went to State Fayre Friday for Kings Of Leon. Was fab! Local though so easy journey. Last weekend I saw Harry Styles and was so impressed with how Wembley manage the crowds so that the station isn’t crowded

notcomfortable · Yesterday 21:18

I saw TT but in Glasgow. The general public completely ruined it for me.
I got stood on by drunk men taking photos, some drunk woman collapsed on me making me fall, I got spewed on, some fucker was wearing a back pack and any time he swayed the bag would knock into me.
I'm used to Glasgow for a concert but this was something else. Its really put me off concerts

lissie123 · Yesterday 21:20

My dd paid £35 to see Take That and £45 to see Lily Allen. She’s had a great week.

And also night 3 of Empire of the Sun at Alexandra Palace last night! Absolutely brilliant!

Every time I go to a gig/show/exhibition etc with DSis, which is often, we comment that we’re supposed to think that London has gone down the shitter. But it’s always full of people enjoying themselves, having a good time, spending money. I love living here and taking advantage of every opportunity to go out and do things. I have to keep a list on my phone to make sure I don’t forget I’ve got tickets for so many things. I’ve already got three things booked for next year

Silverbirchleaf · Yesterday 23:42

I just had to Up ‘The London Stadium’ as didn’t know where it was. Didn’t realise it was the Olympic stadium and didn’t realise they did big gigs there. Wonder if it’s trying to rival Wembley as ‘the’ place to perform.

It’s almost as though the creative industries are something we are totally excelling at. Weird that arts and humanities are being decimated week on week isn’t it?

Right?!

Minesril · Yesterday 23:52

I was at Crystal Palace today watching The Offspring - was fantastic - I hope Crystal Palace get lots of bands in future!

I live in London with my kids. A lot of my friends moved out for bigger houses really. I don’t have a tiny house but pay just as much as they do for much less space. I stayed and often they ask why and to be honest because I couldn’t live anywhere else 🤣
my 11 year old has seen Taylor swift twice, 2 Hyde park bst last year ( Sabrina Carpenter, Noah kahan / Gracie Abraham ) conan grey, laufey, stray kids, black pink, twice and Billie eilish. She has coming up Bruno mars, Hyde park ( kesha and pitbull ) Katseye, Olivia Rodrigo. She has seen lion king, beauty and the beast, Paddington bear, six, Hamilton, Matilda, wicked, mean Girls at the west end. Last week we went to west end live. She also like the Japan festival every year.
then there is all the free stuff to do and see, the food , easy links to most theme parks and anywhere really.
she would never have done all the above if I had to always add transport and accommodation on top.
we love an 02 concert as we leave and head straight to an uber boat most part home then a short bus from there.
some beautiful parks, museums, galleries there is always something to do and see. If she wanted to stay near by for uni then she has plenty of choices with good transport links even if outside of London.

Same here. Abandoned my basket at M &S as they said the queue was an hour!!

Pleased you had a great time. Live music can be incredible. One of the best concerts i have seen was Take That, Milan, 2011. So incredibly good that I took my DC to see them in Berlin in 2024. Dreadful. It was an awful, short concert, full of fillers. I 'joked' for a long time afterwards about #takethatlite. I've seen other UK bands abroad, and never felt so short changed. That was our family holiday that year. Decent budget.

tinyspiny · Today 00:38

@socialdilemmawhattodo was Take That in 2024 the This Life tour as that was absolutely terrible , really put me off seeing them again .
