I was at Take That but London was heaving … check these numbers out..

Six massive headline concerts. One city.
🎤 Harry Styles — Wembley Stadium (~90,000)
🎤 Take That — London Stadium (~70,000-80,000)
🎤 Bad Bunny — Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (~60,000)
🎤 Garth Brooks — BST Hyde Park (~65,000)
🎤 Lily Allen — The O2 (~20,000)
🎤 Kneecap — Crystal Palace Park (~25,000)

That’s around 330,000 people at these six shows alone!

various music festivals going on up and down the country … if you can get out to Dublin or Manchester to see the lads! They were phenomenal! Seeing Harry next week!!

London has a million people a day who travel in and out ( if I’ve remembered that correctly ). It’s defintely busy… you come out of the theatre at 10pm and the place is swarming.

Great isn’t it. I ❤️ London

Pockett · Yesterday 14:28

Ex Londoner here
and this made me pang
what an awesome incredible wonderful city we have for our capital

FTBregret · Yesterday 14:30

Made the mistake of going to Stratford Westfield yesterday (to escape heat) and never seen it so chaotic and busy

SideboobToYouToo · Yesterday 14:30

I was at Take That too, saw Harry on the first night and going again on the last night, also seeing Maroon 5 and Duran Duran.

TakeThatAndParty81 · Yesterday 15:16

yes done theatres too actually come into London a lot not that far … but a pretty amazing night! So many music festivals on around the country too!

PS Think last night has to be an unusual night even for London!

Ha! 3 of my young adult kids were at 3 of those events yesterday. We were in at something else - we all commented on the hundreds of cowboy hats across town (and the eclectic demographic) - so now we know Garth Brooks! Love, love, love London on summer nights - hope everyone had the best time.

It’s almost as though the creative industries are something we are totally excelling at. Weird that arts and humanities are being decimated week on week isn’t it?

TakeThatAndParty81 · Yesterday 16:14

Plenty of cowboy hats at take that too - I’m expecting more at Harry next week.

Bath has a population of about 100,000. Then you add in the students of 2 universities, visiting rugby fans etc and 6 million tourists per year it always feels busy.

It’s a totally different kettle of fish the feel and type of busyiness!

And yet if you believe online posters (including on here) it’s a lawless wasteland that no one in their right minds would set foot in.

And then you dig a little deeper and turns out they haven’t visited London for decades OR they’ve been once in their life - to Leicester Square OR they’ve never been outside the home town in wales and just read the DM

Amazing variety of concerts to choose from

I ❤️London

Obviously biased as I live here!

I’m astounded that anyone would pay the equivalent of a small mortgage to see Harry Styles let alone 90,000 of them but that’s me.

Hope you all had a good time if you went. Agree that no place does entertainment quite like London and London in the summer is awesome.

Pistacheeo · Yesterday 17:44

Harry wasn't a small mortgage. Our two tickets were only £140.
To be honest once you've seen the staff and security at Wembly it feels worth it. Toilets are clean, stewards are on the ball and really helpful. Police all around the area.

And the Proms start in a couple of weeks - audience of 3000 for 86 nights running!

FourEyesGood · Yesterday 17:48

And I was at the Hammersmith Eventim Apollo last night watching The Cardigans, doing their only UK show - they were amazing! Another London event last night!

VictoriaEra2 · Yesterday 17:52

Harry was fabulous.

Pockett · Yesterday 17:53

I was at the National theatre yesterday and the southbank was bubbling with activity. Love love love it

Harry and Shania. My DD was there, she said they were equally as good. She and her friends, are the younger country and western fans, who are growing in numbers. They are going to see Luke Combs in August, so the cowboy hats will still be aplenty.
We were down in March for the theatre, I love London.
