AIBU to feel sorry for Harper? If BB has an issue with his parents it shouldn’t mean that he also stops talking to his siblings. It’s equally as sad if the parents did choreographed the letter/visit.

They've moved mostly away from the structured floor lengths here (London), but you see the petticoat type dresses everywhere anyway.

And we'll probably see more in the Summer.

The Beckhams, the RF are still playing the old press game. Brooklyn & Nicola are operating in the social media era. It’s a different ballgame. Meghan is the same. She has nothing to lose using the kids for publicity. It brings the clicks. None of them want privacy, that’s for sure!

The Kardashian children are an example of what the next gen will be. Look at North. And Blue Ivy. This is the future, even the now, for Harper. She will “arrive” as soon as her beauty brand is launched. She’s a goldmine! Won’t be long until we have a big reveal of the Sussex kids, either…

Whether or not that dress is fashionable amongst harpers age group is a moot point. She looked uncomfortable and that is all that matters. I do not believe for a second it was her free will to be there and turn up in that dress.

She also didn't like her father still kissing her on her forehead in public, but he did it anyway. I feel terribly sorry for her. Hopefully Brooklyn will step up if she ever wants out.

It sounds like he wasn’t home and it was a clear PR move to garner some sympathy.

I’m NC with my family. This is exactly the sort of thing they’d do and post about it on social media (because they aren’t famous and the press aren’t following their every move). This is exactly why they don’t know where i live! Very performative. My mum is absolutely the sort to be posting all sorts on social media about how desperate she is for a relationship with her (only) child and grandchildren. Behind the scenes, I tried for years. She hasn’t seen them in 6 years.

The front stage performance for everyone else’s benefit looks very different to the complete indifference behind the scenes. She’d never sit down with me and talk things out to find a solution. She absolutely would turn up wailing on my doorstep and filming it though. And again, this is why she doesn’t know anymore where we live.

So the Beckham family were there 5 miles for an event - it would not take much for a pap to think - hmm might stake out Brooklyns place to see who turns up. Harper turns up by herself, likely with permission from her parents who stayed away.

tbh this is such a non event and I suspect her parents did it so Harper can get the closure she is looking for that her brother is not interested in keeping in touch.

Whilst I am not a fan of the D&V Beckham the pair of them have worked hard to earn their wealth.

Brooklyn (& Nicola) have just done very little with their lives, neither have had to work hard for anything and just seem thick and self centred. I would have more respect for him if he had not just staggered out of one mansion, into a bigger one whilst claiming family cruelty. He has hardly had to support himself, being part of brand Beckham is probably all he was capable of but has prepared him for being part of brand Peltz.

Regarding Nicola Peltz and her 'controlling' ways - I think maybe I'll need to reassess that factoid as well, given that someone upthread made reference to the Hadid family. I mean, they're a bit crackers, too, aren't they? Maybe that young man wanted to escape from Brand Hadid for a while and Nicola sells sanctuary, as it were.

It was a set up on behalf of their parents, would be my guess (while I will admit D&V have worked extremely hard for their millions, they also pimped those kids out at every given chance).

I have been extremely critical of Brooklyn in the past, but AFAIK he has not mentioned his family or tried to work the press with leaked stories since he put his statement out asking to be left alone. Same can't be said for dear old ma and pa Beckham.

I appreciate this is off the subject but how on earth does David Beckham have a star on the walk of fame? I won't lose sleep over it but it baffles me.

They are paid for. That’s why they are normally unveiled around the time a movie is released for example

God the Beckhams are truly vile people. What a horrible stunt setting up Harper like that. If Harper truly wanted to write a letter she could just post it, or she could email him, or text him or phone him. Privately. No need for this performative nonsense with a camera crew recording it. I actually find it sickening the way they exploit those children.

Paid for it (around $30,000??) and agreed to the terms & conditions which is to agree to a papped ceremony to which he would bring a few celebrity pals and the family.

This has definitely not done anything to help brand Beckham with damage control has it? Very clearly a set up engineered by them. It’ll be interesting to see if Harper or the other sons end up doing a similar runner as Brooklyn.

I think you can feel sorry for Brooklyn while realising he’s also a bit of a knob. The trouble with people like him and Nicola is that their extreme wealth and privilege growing up can lead them to erroneously believe they are something special and when that isn’t coupled with any actual talent it must be quite difficult to accept or even see.

It’s the grandparents I feel most sorry for tbh.

And now ‘friends’ are briefing the press about how furious they are that Beckham has accused them of a publicity stunt

Feel free to tell that to my psychotherapist of 40 years of experience, psychiatrists and psychologist who diagnosed me with Complex PTSD and high functioning Anxiety of a score of 18 out of 18, to the point I am unable to use public toilets, use public transport, use an umbrella or wear a hood over my head, sleep for only 2 hours in any 24 hour period due to sibling flying monkey abuse from a parent.

I think the Beckhams are more likely furious they fucked up the bit about the California law and the use of children's images.

It's pretty obvious they DID set it up and gave permission. Otherwise why aren't they saying they'll sue the photographer(s)?
