A woman is in prison for a crime that didn’t even happen. Many MNers haven’t seen the evidence that emerged post trial and still think she is guilty. So, yes.

A crime that didn’t happen ?! Tell that to all those grieving parents. Vile comment.

@thecureeseems to me you’re the one being vile. Have you read any of the previous threads?

You clearly don’t know very much about the case.

Thank you Countess for continuing this thread on a very important case, for any HCPs and others who are interested in justice.

I didn’t start the thread, Words did.
But TheCuree’s response shows why I am glad that she did.

Funnily enough multiple babies deaths makes me a little emotional

user1471538275 · 14/06/2026 08:46

@Words Thanks for the thread! Important issue which needs resolution.

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel Agree, the glaring issues around LL's conviction must be kept in the public eye and pressure must be kept on until every failure of the case is understood.

That’s understandable.
The parents suffered awful tragic losses due to medical negligence which will have been compounded when they were suddenly told the deaths weren’t accidental, they were murdered by the nice nurse who at least one of the families had become close to.
They are now having it stirred up again by the experts pointing out the flaws with the conviction.
The effect on the parents of this being talked about constantly when they thought the case was done and dusted will be appalling. I think everyone involved agrees that this is deeply cruel and unfair to them.
But it can’t be right to shut down discussion because of it. Quite apart from Lucy Letby herself still being in prison, we need to be open about what went wrong medically and legally, to try to make sure no aspect of this ever happens again.

There’s an interesting. Omparison between the Letby case and the Post Office scandal on the LucyLetby Analysis Youtube channel. Anyone watched it?

Encouraging sign that the topic has reached the public discourse.

Love the postbox topper!

Forgive me if this is on the other threads but is anyone listening to Amanda Knox's podcast Doubt? She's raised some interesting points. Also the daily mails podcast was very good I thought.

Why would anyone listen to Amanda Knox?

Londonmummy66 · 20/06/2026 13:06

Agree @Fiftyandme - emotion needs to be dealt with carefully when the law is involved (much though the prosecution major on it) until a verdict has been reached on the actual facts- it possibly has a place in sentencing. With a guilty verdict on so many counts the horror of the alleged crimes justifies a whole life order. The problem is that there is a lot of emotion in this case as well as some very bad science and statistics that cause obfuscation.

Because she was wrongly convicted of a crime she didn’t commit and large swathes of the public still believe she committed and which Italian police tried really damn hard to make stick, so she might possibly have some insight if this is a similar situation?

And is she a legal expert as well as a media personality? It very sad that people remember her and not Meredith Kercher. Just as with this sad state of affairs all the focus is on Lucy Letby and not those poor babies.

Which evidence is this? As far as I’m aware it’s still being looked into as to whether or not it warrants an appeal.

You’re a bit ahead of yourself.

Legally Letby is a murderer and people are entitled to refer to her as such.

Well, if she didn’t murder the children then the crimes didn’t happen? 🤷‍♀️

FWIW I started off assuming she was guilty but when I looked into it the evidence is laughable.
A doctor reading an article and deciding that this means a child was murdered because he’s sure (in retrospect) he saw a tell tale symptom even though it happened a year ago.
Doesn’t help that the man who actually wrote the article thinks it’s BS.

itwasyourshowallalong · 20/06/2026 14:24

If Letby is not guilty (and there is increasing evidence suggesting this) then the victims and their families do not have justice.

Even if she is guilty, we need to be damned sure that we learn from this in every single possible way we can - including examining all new evidence

WE OWE IT TO THE VICTIMS to ensure that this is examined properly, revisited as needed, until everything that can be done IS done to stop this happening again

She’s not saying the babies didn’t die - they did and that is horrendous, but they weren’t murdered.

Again, how do you know? Have the CCRC been in touch?
