Girls shouldn’t have to resolve it. Politicians can.

But Reform and the Tories have no interest in sorting misogyny or abuse against girls, if anything they want to erode existing protection.

She doesn’t “have to”, she could probably avoid it taking a different route. She could also report it to the police.

This is also true when it happens walking past a building site.

Ffs the onus is on teenage girls to go out of their way to avoid sexual harassment by changing their routes? Can you hear yourself?

it is such a white place

Is it? Not according to zB&H council stats:

More than a quarter of our residents (26%) are Black and Racially Minoritised (non White UK/British). This is compared to 21% across the South East and 27% across England.

While the overall population of the city has increased by 1%, the number of Black and Racially Minoritised residents has increased by 35% since the last Census. An increase from 53,251 residents in 2011 to 72,272 residents in 2021.

Maybe this girl shouldn't have had a drink? Maybe us women should all just stay home to avoid sexual assault, seems like a reasonable solution Hmm

Posters blaming girls remind me of the Nottingham parents and families. As one said we are told we were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

No they replied those young people and caretaker leaving work were in the right place at the right time. It’s the perpetrators who are in the wrong. And those that enable them.

Girls should be absolutely ok to walk past houses on a street without changing course. Crazy it is a suggestion that it’s on them.

There is some progress here at least, we seem to be slowly moving on from vehement denials of antisocial behaviour, sexual harassment and other problematic behaviour from the occupants of these hotels.

Now we've progressed to "tell your daughter not to go near the hotel" because everybody knows full fucking well that it isn't safe for our children and this has become impossible to deny. One step at a time.

Gkei737djdh · 14/06/2026 12:59

So what are reform going to be doing re misogyny in their party and widespread misogyny and abuse against women and girls across the uk form schools to the workplace?

They just defend it and have policies that will make it worse. If misogyny and abuse are important why are the Reform supporters on here not the slightest bit interested in the true problem within the uk which is very much a home grown problem?

Perhaps Rhiannon made the mistake of going to work. Incredible the excuses made for violent men.

Based on the 2021 census 20% of the population of Brighton and Hove were born outside the UK. It’s probably higher by now. That’s substantially higher than the UK average so it seems that immigrants are already welcome there and are integrating well. I go there a lot for gigs and hear accents from all over.

Fab! Let’s hope they blaze a trail and teach the rest of the nation how it’s done.
I live near Brighton and visit often. There are lots of different types of people who live there, but not many of the types who are currently in migrant hotels. Let’s see how it goes!

I reckon Mumsnet has been infiltrated by this propaganda unit:

The views on here don’t represent the views of anyone I’ve encountered in real life.

Interesting. I never meet anyone in real life who espouses the vehemently anti-immigration views that I see so frequently here. Perhaps we both live in bubbles?

You think because Farage was photographed with Tate that makes him a misogynist. He has explained his position on Tate, not that would take a blind bit of notice. The men you are protecting would not thank you for your naivety either - far from it.

Perhaps Rhiannon made the mistake of going to work. Incredible the excuses made for violent men.

And still no interest in Reforms stance on the problem as a whole that is very much a home grown problem. Yeah we see you.

Reform UK has faced intense scrutiny over a series of misogynistic comments, sexist candidate behavior, and controversial stances on domestic and sexual abuse. They often uses gender-based crimes committed by foreign nationals or asylum seekers to push broader anti-migrant agendas, while allegedly ignoring systemic, domestic drivers of violence against women.

Weaponising tragic stories like this is vile.

Wasn't even thinking of his love for Tate, was thinking of the catalogue of appalling behaviour and views within the party but thanks for the reminder.

How dare disenfranchised white men have anybody campaigning for the.. no wonder white, hetosexual males feel the way they do.

Carry on laughing. Your choice, so let other people have theirs. Quite simple democracy is when it's respected by everyone equally.

There are far more peacemakers than there are haters.

If the haters try to disrupt our town I will be joining in to drive them straight back out again too.

Oh yes the Green party. I can guarantee that misogynistic, anti-semitic party get your vote.

A reminder that over 120 Labour/Lib Dem/Plaid/SNP MPs have signed an EDM objecting to the fact that girls are not going to required to undress in front of middle aged men.
