Ugly feet should be hidden?

lettuceeat · Yesterday 17:33

I have really ugly feet, bunions, wonky toes, just horrid, I'm mid forties and never wear another shoes my feet as I'm so aware of how unattractive they are but actually it's frustrating every year trying to find footwear for when it's warm, I envy those with flip flops thrown on with shorts or a dress or those with Birkenstock and a dress so should I wear whatever regardless of how ugly my feet are? Like who actually would notice my wonky toes? Would anyone care ? Or comment if they saw my ugly feet?

OP posts:

V few folk have pretty feet. Wear Birkenstocks they hide the worst bits

LaurieFairyCake · Yesterday 17:35

literally no one will notice or comment, most peoples feet are not particularly nice 😊

Lovelynames123 · Yesterday 17:36

Gosh, wear the sandals, no one cares! Even if I noticed, I wouldn't think of your feet beyond that millisecond!

CornishPorsche · Yesterday 17:36

No one will look at your feet and care unless you have an infection that is so smelly it's affecting people around you.

Do you look at other people's feet and judge them?

Wear the damn sandals.

HogletPatricia · Yesterday 17:36

I feel like there's a difference between bunions/wonkiness (fine), and flaking dry skin/fungal nail infections etc (hide).

dogsarebetterthanppl · Yesterday 17:36

@lettuceeat imo, you need 3 things.

  1. to be confident or at least seem to be.
  2. to stop caring about other people’s opinions
  3. a full pedicure with gel toes (i think unpainted toenails are revolting and would much rather see bunions, they will also take the attention away from the other issues)
Namechange902 · Yesterday 17:37

Unless they are flaking on me I won’t notice them

Livpool · Yesterday 17:37

I hate feet anyway so wear what you like and who cares?! I have a dislocated little toe from ballet and I don’t care

Coconutter24 · Yesterday 17:39

Wear the sandals, no one cares. What’s the worst that will happen? Someone might think you have ugly feet…. So what

GarrettGraham · Yesterday 17:39

I have really ugly feet. Extremely wide. Short stubby toes. Awful.

They look a million times better if I keep them moisturised and have my toenails painted. Do that, then wear whatever shoes you want.

Why should that be hidden? Sun and fresh air can help, especially if sweat is an issue for the skin. Nail infections aren't dirty or smelly.

SunnyRedSnail · Yesterday 17:41

Most feet are ugly.

Wonky feet are fine. Just wear the sandals.

Cracked skin, fungal toenails are minging and need hiding.

Rentobrill · Yesterday 17:42

Very few people have pretty feet.

Going to disagree with PP- much prefer lovely clean toenails especially if they have been buffed (like they do at Margaret Dabbs).

TheChosenTwo · Yesterday 17:42

I hate all feet and if I ruled the world everyone would wear full coverage shoes all the time in public 😂 even people who claim they have pretty feet just really don’t.
So - just fucking well wear what you want, I’d never tell anyone how I feel about their feet, it’s a me issue not an anyone else issue, you have just as much right to feel comfortable as anyone else.
ETA - I would definitely notice your feet but I’d not make any comments. I’m not a monster!

muggart · Yesterday 17:42

This is definitely one of those things that feels more of a problem to you that people who will see you. Go forth and wear sandals

haggisaggis · Yesterday 17:43

I always wear sandals in summer for going out as they are so much more comfortable with my bunions and ‘wonky’ toes than dress shoes. I don’t care what they look like. I’ve had the worst foot fixed and am so looking forward to wearing pretty sandals this year.

ComtesseDeSpair · Yesterday 17:44

Agree with previous poster that keeping feet moisturised and painting toenails does make a difference. I have reasonably bad feet: they’re clean but I have calluses on my toes, cracked heels, sometimes blood blisters and a bit of a toenail missing because I do a lot of long-distance running and hiking; but I wear sandals in summer and I don’t really worry about it. I don’t tend to pay that much attention to anyone else’s feet and wouldn’t put any judgement on feet which were less than gorgeous. They’re feet, we walk with them, they take some wear, as long as they aren’t dirty or stinky and thus objectively offensive, who really cares about somebody else’s invisible thoughts about them.

MyThreeWords · Yesterday 17:45

Definitely let your feet out into the sun, It will do them good and I can't imagine that people will notice or care.

All feet are pretty much horrible anyway!

Off topic but I DEFINITELY take issue with the idea that feet are less horrible if the toenails are painted. Little blobs of colour on the end of your toes is really not a good look! Like Smarties stuck to cocktail sausages.

BunnyOnTheOnion · Yesterday 17:46

I'm with @TheChosenTwo are on this!! All feet are grim, I would rather see naked bodies with socks on than bare feet!! 😂

If you are going to get your wonky feet out, I'll judge you just as much (but no more) than everyone else with naked toes!!

I prefer lovely clean toenails to painted nails too.
Moisturised feet with buffed nails or clear polish looks more wholesome to me than coloured toenails.

Renamedefault · Yesterday 17:47

Very few people have attractive feet.

I disagree about painting your toenails. Fair enough, make sure they’re clean and neatly trimmed, even a pedicure, but colour either draws attention to them and looks a bit daft if they’re really bad, or it gets chipped and just starts to look even worse.

OneThreadOnlybyN · Yesterday 17:47

Unless you're planning on resting them
on me, the state of your feet are none of my concern.

you don't need to paint your tow nails either. Just keep them as clean as you're able.

stop caring what random people think. Lots of people might think I shouldn't wear shorts, tough fucking luck, don't like my kegs don't look at them 💁🏻‍♀️😵‍💫

Totally agree!

I can't remember the last time I noticed a stranger's feet op. And even if I did, so what! Wear the shoes x
