Does anybody else dislike Pride?

We have one in our town for the second year running, and it's just really off.

Now before I get the "don't be homophobic comments" I am very much live and let live.

It's just that it can be very adult in the middle of the day.

My DS is gay and neither he or any of his huge group of mainly gay friends go to pride. They say it's just full of creeps and perverts and it doesn't speak to them or their experience at all.

I suspect it's highly unlikely this was the actual case as most organisations are highly literate about flags and their usage, and the original claimant has mysteriously forgotten what the flag looked like.

Exactly, the person who originally said it on the thread had heard it from others (her kids said that's what it was) but by her own admission never bothered to find out if it actually was, just took their word for it.
Cue loads of "that's terrible, OMG, how can they have a paedophilia flag there?! Evil! etc when no one even knows if that's the case at all!
Yet people just blindly react and believe everything they read on the internet as absolute truth with no fact checking at all on their parts to see if it's actually true.
Doesn't stop online frenzies and people getting whipped up though which is worrying in itself.

I did not "hear it from others". I saw the flag with my own eyes. However I didn't know what it was for. There are a lot of flags. I only know a few by sight. My son told me what it was and his brother backed him up. They also showed me on Google at the time because I was surprised that it exists in any capacity.

But, a year later I can't remember what colours it was. I also can't tell you the colors of the asexual flag. Or the demi boy flag. Or many many others. Can you remember the colours of things you nearly a year ago?

Why were the police not involved?!

Police have been told to scale back their enthusiastic involvement in Pride, following a landmark High Court ruling last year.

The BBC article's very anodyne, so here are some images showing UK cops providing an authoritative presence.

And here's an article on the indoctrination of children at Pride events:
